People like to bash on his field goal % for the series against Portland, but something I thought was even more annoying was the fact that he gets ZERO calls. Maybe it was because the refs wanted Portland to get back in the game.. who knows?

Regardless, Manu's game has always been about getting to the free throw line with contact. Not only did it greatly deflate his field goal percentage, but it completely nullifies his game.

I guess the refs don't consider Manu a 'superstar' anymore to get superstar calls. We're going to need him getting to the stripe to win the WCF.

I seriously can't be the only getting really frustrated with how much he gets hacked when driving in.

Manu's outside shot being so inconsistent is whats hurting him more than anything. He shot 38% from deep in the first round and looked amazing. He shot 14% from deep in the 2nd round... If you are a driver that has lost a chunk of speed/athleticism, you need an outside shot to get the defense to fear that as well. Its what plague's Wade from time to time when he's not healthy

Yes, he was 10-10 in one game against Dallas. Manu was aggressive and attacking the Basket. Manu wasn't nearly aggressive against the Blazers and just resorted to jumpshots. Honestly, there was no need for him to be aggressive.

I think how he comes out of this rest will be pretty telling... the Spurs have basically played 10 games in 20 nights the last couple of weeks... while people correctly point out that there are no back-to-backs in the playoffs, that many games in many days is probably the second worst scenario. We survived. Now we get a little rest here, and a little rest between game 2 and 3... I think it will help Manu, Tim and also Tony, who hopefully won't be too hindered.

He's actually been getting to the line more in these playoffs than in a few years, tbh. I've been surprised. His jump shot has mostly been off, but at least he's getting to the line.

Manu is shooting 5.1 FT per game in these playoffs, which is up from the 2013 playoffs (4.0) also up from the 2012 playoffs (3.8). 5.1 is not significantly lower than his FT attempts in any playoff run aside from 2005 and 2011 (the Memphis series).

Look in games against Portland. Refs gave Manu the calls because they were against Dallas, tbh..

Well, you probably do have a point there. It seemed like he was getting to the line all the time against Dallas, but against Portland, he didn't get there much aside from game 3, where he shot 10-10 from the free throw line. However, that may have had as much to do with Lopez's inside presence as anything. Much of the time, Dallas had nothing to stop Tony and Manu from getting to the rim.

Ibaka-less OKC should allow some lanes to the basket for our slashers, as well.
