Probably...still another year but this seems like the last stand
Is it safe to say the big three's championship window is closed?
Probably...still another year but this seems like the last stand
It's the last year regardless, tbh..
Parker and Duncan are noticeably worse than last year, Ginobili has virtually no consistency in his game, and next year's team won't have the hunger that this year's team is playing with following 6..
Perhaps, but is has nothing to do with 6'10" nut puncher.
that window has been adjustable. pay attention.
robdiaz stahp it![]()
We can't blindly shut the window without knowing the offseason outlook.
Itz true![]()
No, but only because none of these other teams play great basketball. It has more to do with the health of certain players on other teams though. Namely Wesbrook and Wade.
What we do next season largely depends on whether Timmy wants another go... if anything, this run validates the FO decision of basically bringing the same kind of team...
If Tim wants to keep going, I doubt we'll see many changes...
We won't lose to an Ibaka-less MethKC squad.
+1. Pop only goes as far as Duncan can take him and 2007 was the ending of Duncan's prime. If Duncan cant average 20 and 10,,,,we're done. Last years Finals proved it,,,,Duncan, turning the clock back, with 30 and 18 in game 6 in the Finals only for Pop to bench him with a 5 point lead and 28 seconds to go. If Duncan doesn't go 30 and 18,,,,we get crushed.
Nah, next year is it. However, this is more than likely their last solid shot.
First of all, Harden and Ibaka are out and the Spurs have the HCA. And for the next season, the big 3 are on reasonable contracts. I don't think the Spurs will resign Bonner and the lux cap is going up by around 5M. Kawhi is still under his rookie contract for the next season, so the Spurs can re-sign Diaw and Mills and add one MLE player that could make a lot of difference. Also Belli will improve a lot in his second season.
Nope. Parker will lose weight and get in better shape and will have one last surge in him, and Kawhi will be even better. Don't forget about Kawhi everyone. Plus Tiago will probably improve too and hopefully Green adds more moves to his offensive arsenal. Win or lose though, I think Duncan, Ginobili, and Pop come back for one last year.
Next year will be the last stand.
Maybe. Who knows, it's been asked for about 5+ years now tbh.
point is moot. Not losing this series.
Yeah, up 5 with 27 secs left in game 6. What were we thinking that this old team ever had legit chance to win again?????
the spurs have been too old since i was in middle school tbh, i'm not going to worry about windows closing until players start to hangem up
Didn't know we had fourth graders posting on this board.
It would seem so, but people have been ready to close the door for years, so we'll see.
middle school refers to 6th-8th grades you
Next year is probably the last time this current iteration of the Spurs will compete at a high level. Duncan and Ginobili are probably done after 2015, Pop may make good on his word and bolt with them. One more year of this, and then the years of mildly compe ive restructuring come.
