Spurs need to play a physical brand of ball. We can't be giving them free shots inside. No touch fouls. When fouling, make them earn it.

Are you delusional ? Splitter is playing his usual minutes. He is our last line of defense along with Timmy.

I think Splitter will be start game 1. Put if Brooks goes small, he will be subbed out in the first few minutes.

Problem with Splitter last years, he seemed to lose focus when he got benched due to the lineup changes. This year, Pop benched Splitter quite a few times (I believe it was on purpose) and he came on and had some of his best games of the season.

I think this is the biggest improvement is Splitter's game - His mentality. He is at the point with the Spurs and as a player, he will do whatever it takes to win and can adjust on the fly. The Spurs are a very season team. Seeing the even further maturation of Splitter, Kawhi, and Mills this season has been an enjoyment.

If OKC do go small (which I think they will, its how they beat the Spurs two years ago), I expect to see Duncan and Splitter splitting the C duties. Both will be fresh the entire game so they can run and keep on with OKC with no problem.

When will we deal with the elephant in the room here?

That Splitter-Diaw should be our 2 bigs for OKC series? Duncan cannot guard small ball

Splitter-Diaw combination work like a charm against GS last year. They were on the floor at the end for that crucial game 3 of the series and they dominated GS the rest of the series.

But since the Thunder's options at C are Perk, Adams or Collinson, Duncan can matchup with any of those guys. And the fact none have a consistent 20 ft jumper, Duncan will be less of a liability on the court. Ibaka going 11-11 or whatever it was, was luck, but it was also due to Duncan being a step too slow to close out the shot. This pretty much has no chance of reoccurring with the 3 forementioned players being on the court, but never say never.

"Duncan being a step too slow to close out the shot"

Slow? he doesn't even try to step up to a shooter driving into the lane and pulling up.

Splitter was played on the perimeter for most of his career in Europe by his coaches. I don't know how much of that experience remains in his head--or in his mature body-- but he's a little more mobile than he looks when he's just standing around under the basket waiting for players to move into the paint.

If you noticed, he bodied up on Dirk away from the basket a lot during the Maverick series and didn't do too bad. Dirk wasn't used to seeing that and got pretty frustrated.

It might be interesting to put him on Durant to give Durant a different look he hasn't seen--a 7' guy bodying up on him to take him off his 3 pt. sweet spot and maybe keep the ball out of his hands as much as possible. Is he going to get beat off the dribble? Sure, but that's where our help defense comes in.

Honestly, I was just being nice with that statement. He does try, sometimes. But more times than not of late.

We have the advantage now inside with Ibaka's lnjury, Pop will not give away that advantage and let Brooks dictate the lineup by pulling a Splitter who has had a great post season thus far.

I forgot we had Alex Garcia at one point. Wish he could've stayed here longer.
