My Danny tbh.
We got him for NOTHING. He's playing better than probably 75% of the first round picks since his draft in 2010.
2009* but yeah.
My bad.
Thank you, Based Green!
I could have bumped all the Danny green sucks thread but I am in a good mood.
great game 1 for Verde
finished with bonnerish +30
timely 3s some good passes and great defense
my tbh
he's our best defender and shooter
thats pretty much 80% of basketball

amen
I'm surprised this wasn't bumped after the finals. Great defense the entire finals especially against Wade.
Like RAVEN said. He needs more minutes especially if he is going to be our best shooting guard after Manu retires.
I'm tired of him getting benched for missed assignments even when Marco can't play defense for chit.
Yeah he makes some dumb turnovers, but I still feel confident when he is on the floor. Danny's offence is just a bonus at this point.
When his 3 is on, he pretty much opens the whole floor for the Spurs.
Great offense as well. The Heat didn't know he could put the ball on the floor and make plays. If he had that in his arsenal last year we would have been better off.
Out of curiosity, what type of money do y'all think Green will get come next year? $6-7 million/year? More? Hopefully teams don't start noticing how great he is defensively.
I heard analyst say how he isn't known for his defense a couple of times this year. DG is arguably a better defender than Kawhi. Lol @ how people get paid to talk basketball when they don't know about it.
I was surprised at how much Danny put the ball on the floor and drove to the basket these past Finals. I don't think anyone saw that dimension to his game. If he can develop a slash and kick element to his game it will keep defenders from camping out at the 3 pt line. I truly hope he consistently plays the way he did in the Finals this whole next year. Kawhi looks like he is going to reap the benefit of most of the iso sets but Green can be a solid #3 option behind Kawhi and Manu.
Green would probably get offers like Korver's current deal, with maybe a slight increase for inflation. He may stay with the Spurs for less, though.
He did close the season with some good all around play. I owe him a public apology for making fun of a floater he threw up while flying down the lane...I seem to remember he landed in front of the ball...it fell on his heel behind him...rolled out of bounds...knocked over a beer causing an electrical fire that killed everyone in the AT&T center. Then if he didn't come out an have a great offensive game without making a single 3, or maybe 1.
I'd personally be thrilled if we could lock Danny down on a 4 year/$24 million deal. Anything less than that would almost make me feel bad.
An amatuer source who usually reports Spurs news correctly has recently said that Danny Verde might change his number to be his beloved #14 (maybe it's been stated already and I overlooked it). What do you think he should do if this is true? Keep the number he has worn in both his finals or should he consider his 3 years settling for #4 over and snatch the number he feels is meant for him to wear?

No way, Green should pretty easily pull Channing Frye money at least.
