I remember the line from Tim as more of a "don't get ahead of ourselves" kind of slip up. He seemed to mean get 2 games, but corrected to 1 game. Not wanting to give fodder to the OKC team and fans.

Anybody not wanting a sweep is fooling themselves. The KD-Westbrook dynamic would be hilarious

I'd also love Derek Fisher's career to end in a game 5 blowout in San Antonio, with him on the court surrounded by 4 D-Leaguers down by 30 with 8 minutes to play.
Nothing wrong with the same situation in a game 4 blowout in OKC, tbh.

    This.

The general mentality and realistic expectation of a playoff team is to split the pair on the road. Of course the Spurs would rather win both, but outright saying that to the media is disrespectful to the Thunder. No need to give them any extra motivation.

    incorrec.

right after the game Duncan was interviewed and said something like "we are going to OKC to get 1 game" then immediately corrected himself "two I mean, 2 games..."

Parker got tweaked in game 5. Ibaka got hurt in game 6. Nobody would intentionally extend a series against a team with durant

The whole premise is idiotic. The Spurs have 4 sweeps in their last 9 playoff series. How could that happen if the Spurs really only ever wanted to get a split on the road after winning the first two at home?

You guys are overthinking it big time.

The general wisdom is you try to steal 1 of 2 on the road. Duncan just said what everyone thinks, but then realized that he didn't want it to seem that he thought they could only win 1 game on the road so said 2.

    Can't go wrong either way.
Awesome! This is now my favorite thing to hope for in this series.
