Meh...If anyone did the Spurs a favor, it was Dallas. The Mavs pushed them hard, made them sharpen up, and reminded them how tough the playoffs can be. That tough first round was a blessing in disguise.
Houston might have been easier, but we will never know, they died in mediocrity.

If the Spurs had sleepwalked into the first round that way against any other team, they'd probably be watching the playoffs on TV right now.
Lol he's trippin. He should give thanks and praise to Allah every day that Jordan did him a favor those 2 years he was away.
It's funny that we're talking about this here, yet Rockets fans aren't talking about it on their forums...
Truth bombs with no explosives or detonator.
Hilarious... But if, but if...
I love Dream but you know he's still butthurt over this...

Only team in the West that was capable of beating the Spurs is the one you're playing now. But since they lost Ibaka, it's pretty much a done deal.
- 1:47:40 I said it, but I shouldn't have. What I should have said...
- 01:47:44 - I can't translate that. - You can't translate what?
- 01:47:46 - I can't translate "should". - There's no Mende word for "should"?
- 01:47:49 No. Either you do something, or you don't do it.
- 01:47:52 What I meant to say, what I MEANT...
The Rockets either make it to the WCF and meet the Spurs or they do not. They did not.
Did you know that the Trail Blazers missed Hakeem by the toss of a coin? lol
Jordan
Durant
Hakeem
What a different world Portland would be.
Dude does have a point.
I still think the Spurs would have gotten past Houston in 6 or 7, but it would have been a much harder series. Houston would have been a more physical team and banged more in the post. Howard beasted through the first round loss, and he would've had a chip on his shoulder coming back into San Antonio with a new crew. Beardy would have done what he normally does, and some scrub like Lin would surely have had the series of their lives.
Instead, Lillard's miracle shot gave the Spurs a series against an overmatched Blazers team and a cold shooting Aldridge, and that series ended up being predicated a lot more finesse than brute strength.
I've seen multiple posts by people with the same mentality on clutchfans. It's not an overwhelming majority but there, more like 1/3 people. Sunday afternoon this rocket fan nearly got into a shouting match with me at a bar. He was mad mostly because I was laughing, I've heard it so many times.
The spurs would score 150 a game against the rockets
Poor Dream must be suffering digesting Dwert´s ego, even when they were playing the Blazers his face was like ¨WHAT THE IM DOING HERE!?¨
Interesting. What does Wes Unseld think about the ECF?
This is the honest to God truth.
And who would have thought?
I doubt it. He got the last laugh when he and the Rockets knocked out Robinson and the Spurs in the WCF.
Couldaa,Shouldaa,Wouldaa...every team controls their own destiny, you get what you put in...ok, I ran out of clichés
I'm tired of hearing about this overrated . 1.) he charges people money to teach them absolutely nothing. Look at Amare, McGee, Dwight with suspect ass post moves 2.) he'd be another Barkley and Malone if Jordan had never retired 3.) This piece of has always hated the Spurs since the Robinson days, he's lucky he had more help than Robinson did
Hakeem needs to STFU and go fund some more terrorist groups.
Aldridge dropping 40 twice and losing 2 home games with home court advantage certainly didn't help the Rockets cause. They're offense can be as bad as OKC at times hoping for fouls and jacking up 3's.
They also missed Larry Bird in 1978.
What a pathetic thing to say on the record. That's why you play in the regular season to get the top seed so you don't have to take on the tougher opponents (although the Mavs were certainly no pushovers, I do think they would have been a lot worse off if they didn't play us). The Rockets got obliterated by a team without good defense and no bench... I don't really think they can go on record and say they would have beaten us when they got taken to school by a much younger team. Not like the Rockets got out because of a flukish game or two, the Blazers flat-out beat them in every way.
Dallas did the Spurs a favor.
Portland did the Spurs a favor.
Ibaka did the Spurs a favor.
Everyone loves the Spurs!
