With our Durant defender on the bench
After Kawhi’s second foul, the Spurs were outscored by 4 over the next 12 minutes of game time until he returned (coinciding with Durant returning to the game). It's imperative that he stay out of foul trouble at all costs for this series and next. His +23 in just 16 minutes equates to +70 over the course of a whole game. OKC's only chance is if Kawhi is off the floor for considerable stretches. A lot of his fouls are careless (push offs, bad reach ins) that he'll cut down on over time.

If Leonard was created in a lab to be the perfect Spurs, Westbrook was too...just as his counterpart.
For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction.

We should just hope that Kawhi never guards Westbrook because if they come into contact the resulting matter/antimatter annihilation might destroy everything in a 50-mile radius.

I'd take Westbrook in a heartbeat. He's got a ton of talent, just needs a coach that could put a leash on him like Pop used to do with Parker in the early days.

The problem for the Thunder isn't any rift between their two best players, it's the growing gulf between those two best players and the rest of the roster; both in terms of talent and in terms of playing together. After two nights of single digits out of the rest of the starts I wouldn't be surprised to see KD and Russ combine for 55+ shots for the rest of the series. I'm amazed at how hard the media has on Thabo, Perkins and Collison (and they deserve blame, no doubt) while sending so little at Brooks. Especially because the Ibaka injury aside the story of this series boils down to "System vs. No System".

    RW took 26 shot Att.

    KD took 16 shot Att.

Yet they both score 15...no efficiency or good shot selection from rw0

Spurs rip Thunder 112-77 for 2-0 lead
Bunch of old guys schooling Durant and Westbrook...Shows what can happen if stars take less money & the coach is allowed to be in charge...
Reminds me of my Lakers…Ohh yea, o Dr Jim...

Hey Camper. How you been doing?

Its amazing to me how much better the Spurs have looked. Even with no Ibaka, the Thunder should be able to do so much better then they have. Its almost like they have already conceded the series. Pure speculation though. Spurs are coming out for blood on Sunday.

Brooks has no system other than KD and Westbrooke iso-ball. Players like Thabo, Perkins and Collison should be able to score more than 5 points total. The Spurs have had equally offensively challenged/one-dimensional players (like Bowen, Oberto, Bonner) contribute. But the lack of system to involve the "others" will be this team's downfall. What surprises me is that Westbrooke in his interview said that they're gonna keep doing what they've been doing. How can one keep doing the same things and expect different results. The losses aren't close - they're overwhelming.

Anyone else worried about their conduct after the game, so relaxed and calm, as if they know they're going to win games 3 and 4. Just weird. IMO.

    Same here.

except Westbrook could never work with Pop. Westbrook is clearly not over himself. Showing up KD at the end of the half in front of all the fans? It's like saying hey look everyone, it's KDs fault. The locker room is for real discussion when a half has ended.

Non issue. Point guard is supposed to be running the team. These guys play a hundred games to get here, then something like the Ibaka thing happens and it takes it's toll emotionally on everyone. Imagine working on a project all year, all day every day, away from home for extended periods, rehab and all that and you had to wait a year just to start.... but now your support goes down just when you're on the precipice of realizing your goal. It's going to take a toll, but a championship team can regroup and overcome it. Problem is the Thunder don't have a championship level coach, but RW and KD, if they are on, can make it interesting.

Westbrook runs nothing except himself way too fast at the basket.
Westbrook is NOT a leader, I don't care what position he plays.
He is a self centered drama queen.

KD didn't strike me that way at all. Durant usually sounds a bit like Duncan at the podium and last night he was getting salty (by his mild mannered standards at least) with a reporter suggesting that the Thunder weren't moving the ball in the second half. WB kept that eating grin on the entire time but even that seemed a little strained at times. The thing that stood out to me was Scott Brooks coming back to "3 free throws in the last 3 quarters" a couple of times. Pretty sure he's banking on that trend reversing in OKC.

That worries me. Brooks is basically asking for help from the refs since they can't get it done status quo.

I'm not a fan of Westbrook, however his attacking mentality is their only hope. They aren't going to win by having KD shoot threes the entire series. He has to take a leadership position, regardless who the best player is. You see Manu do it all the time with other players.
