Thunder F Ibaka to start Game 3
OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- Thunder coach Scott Brooks said forward Serge Ibaka will start Game 3 of the Western Conference finals Sunday night.
Ibaka has missed the first two games of the series against the San Antonio Spurs with a left calf strain. The Thunder had said he likely would miss the rest of the playoffs, but miraculously changed course Friday.
Ibaka said Sunday morning the pain started to subside in the past three days. He took part in the team's Sunday morning shootaround and later got positive feedback from the team's medical staff.
With Ibaka, the league's leading shot blocker, the Thunder were one of the best defensive teams in the NBA. Without him, San Antonio shot at least 50 percent in the first two games and won them by a combined 52 points. The Spurs have said all along that they expected him to return during the series.
Ibaka was glad to be out on the practice court in the shootaround, and he appreciates the fact that playing is even a possibility.
''It feels great,'' he said. ''The first time the doctors told me I would not be able to play in the playoffs, I cried like a little . It was something that I wasn't really looking for. I always enjoy playing with my teammates and playing basketball.''

Starting the game? WTF so this bum is gonna play 40 minutes or something? Brooks and Presti are very desperate es.
faking that the injury was season ending
Probably
Who gives a ? I just hope the spurs don't get intimidated and make the er work. If was really injured, make him pay for it.
Attack early and often...make this fool attempt 20 blocks on the first 20 shots. He'll be gone by halftime and this will be a non-story.
Brooks came out and said he has no plans to limit Ibaka's minutes. Fine, just make him run.
Cause the ain't injured anywhere near as bad as Presti's lying ass made it sound
from a team that lied to Seattle, lives off foodstamps, this is what you expect.
Is that quote for real?
If so, the NBA should Donald Sterling him -- it's no less offensive than Sterling's nonsense.
And stole New Orleans' shtick about standing until the first basket tbh
This.
Along with head cheerleader and mouthpiece Vagina Miller and the entire t.v. / media crew playing along to fabricate some Willis Reed type drama.![]()
That's obvious at this point, but it doesn't change the fact that he's injured at least somewhat. They didn't just throw away Games 1 and 2 so they could try and mind the Spurs. Ibaka's going to tire out if he has to play too much. Make him play too much.
I hope this nig keeps his quiet, I mean no faces grabbing his waist/legs/whatever a la Wade because when those drinkers are winning they never complain about pain.
He was injured bad enough to miss the first 2.. Tony still has a tight hamstring and has not missed any time so far.. He will play tonight on adrenaline but is far from healthy..
Might need Baynes to come in and goon it up.
So anyone want to apologize here? faked like
Even Reggie knows that class 2 strain was bull
he looks pretty damn good unfortunately...
5-5, 6 rebounds, 2 blocks five minutes into the second quarter.
He didn't do after that first quarter
