    He very well could, but the Spurs' offense is humming to the tune of 107 ppg on 50% shooting for the playoffs. They have to stop SA, they're not simply going to outscore them.

    Scoring and defense are closely linked. For example when it's easy to score it puts less pressure on your defense.
