They'll still have a shot, but OKC are easily favorites if they win game 4.

It's not over, but you gotta think the Thunder are more likely than the Spurs to go to the Finals. Knew this was going to be an extremely hard series to win once Ibaka came back.

Bigger problem for the Spurs is turnovers. Lots of their playoff losses can be traced directly to turnovers/sloppy passing. Whether that's something the Spurs can control, or if it's the natural result of more athletic teams increasing their intensity to a level where the Spurs have to be reckless is debatable, but turnovers/sloppy passes are clearly the biggest problem the Spurs have. Sloppy passes slow down the offense, turnovers basically lead directly to points, especially against the Thunder.

Spurs are indeed done. But it happened last year.
You don't come back after throwing away a championship, unless you make changes.

Spurs FO got hypnotized by their regular season success. They believed that they needed to merely try harder, and not make structural changes.

The Spurs need to practice playing against that. It's ridiculous. They know it's a weakness but still haven't figured it out. The first key is not turning the ball over. When they don't do that they can get good shots.

But pop doesn't want those athletic guys. He wants guys that don't break his system by leaving their feet / space defensively. Guys that aren't athletic so they survive by staying in the box he has created.

    Speed and athleticism force turnovers.

Ever wondered why Heat/Thunder force a lot of turnovers? Ever wonder why Kwahi forces more turnovers than anyone else on the Spurs? You can not teach speed and athleticism and the European style basketball, while it make your team looks a lot stronger than it really is, can not replace speed and athleticism once the other team figures you out.

In the twilight years of GDP we got three deep playoff runs and lost to far superior talent, there is nothing to be ashamed off. If we have 2003 MVP Duncan it would be a totally different game. Be grateful how far our team came when Duncan can not even post up and score reliably on the likes of Perkins/Adams.

The problem is that it's not really easily to replicate it in practice, especially since the Spurs don't really have hyper athletes to practice it on. Also, there's really only 2 teams that can do that in the league.

Spurs still have a good chance to win this series due to HCA .... We always said the Thunder are the worst matchup for the Spurs and they just get away with too much in Oklahoma. problem now is the Spurs will need two perfect games at home to get to the Finals, because OKC got their confidence back like in 2012

It depends what happens in Game 5. Pop has had many, many opportunities to figure out the Thunder and he can't, so it's not looking like that will change. However, being tied 2-2 with a 59-win team with more talent than you should be expected.

Rumpd, I can see where you coming from. Russell Westbrook is outplaying the whole Spurs team while serge just shows up.

Way too early however. Game 5 is a must win and it's at home. The Spurs now have to figure it out and play with no fear.

I remember Friday morning feeling almost like the Spurs had just lost a game.

And they hadn't played in two days . . .
