Why can't I just love the music know all about it like I do track and football? I also know all about literature but don't need to write a book. Just a guy who likes to know all he can.

I don't have a problem with acquiring knowledge. I have a problem with how people behave when they have knowledge. You can impart wisdom/knowledge without pretending to be superior. If you were truly, honestly in pursuit of knowledge you could accept what other people might bring to the table instead of thinking you have it all figured out.

I'm not here to impress anyone. I don't need that validation from a message board.

I did. I didn't see anything particularly insightful that would stimulate the interest of a broad audience. I would rather read Ted's book.

Hi Ted,

I just started reading your book, Delta Blues. I'm about a quarter in and am really enjoying your writing in telling the history of the music. I don't read much non-fiction but your work reads much like a good novel while still conveying the pertinent facts.

Besides being a fan of the blues, I am also a fan of the San Antonio Spurs. As such, I often peruse a message board called SpursTalk. There is a self purported blues aficionado named, Avante. He claims to know more about the subject than you do even though I don't think he as done anything besides getting information from the internet and Wikipedia. If you have a few minutes, would you mind reviewing his blues comments in the thread linked below and let me know if he knows what he's talking about?

I only have a few passions, when it comes to them I do have it all figured out, been into those things a long long time.

Beasley mostly played second guitar with Slyvester Weaver, he did record a couple solo sides as the vocalist.

It's just funny because originally, you wrote "Sykvester". But I read it as "Skyvester" which I thought was kind of a cool take on the more traditional "Sylvester". But then I realized that you misspelled it and it didn't even say "Skyvester". But you caught it also and went back and changed it. But you ed it up again and wrote "Slyvester". But I admit I did Google "Slyvester" just to make sure there wasn't some re bluesman who spelled his name that way. So in a round about way, you've succeeded in making me waste more of my precious time today.
