I'm sick of all the gushing the media and former players give Lebron. Calling him the greatest small forward ever, over Bird is Blasphemy.
They all point to his ridiculously high FG%. But guess what? That stat is total BS. First off Lebron gets a ton of layups/dunks in transition. The only reason his FG% is so high is because he cherry picks on defense and gets easy dunks.
Look at his FG% against the Pacers OUTSIDE of the paint:
Game 1 - 1/6
Game 2 - 3/10
Game 3 - 4/10
Game 4 - 4/10
Game 5 - 2/8
Total - 14/44 = 31.8%
That's pathetic. And most of those jumpers are WIDE OPEN or single teamed. With Allen/Chalmers/Battier/Cole/Jones/Lewis/Bosh who all shoot 40% 3FG no one can double team Lebron on the perimeter. He misses 2/3 of his shots out side of the paint.
And his shots in the paint are either dunks or he elbows his way into layups in the half court.
Lets look at KD outside the paint:
Game 1 - 9/17
Game 2 - 4/11
Game 3 - 3/11
Game 4 - 6/14
Total - 22/53 - 41.5%
KD is shooting almost 10% better than Lebron outside the paint. But of course the media won't say anything about that. Plus Lebron is playing a pathetic Pacer team where he can relax on defense.
Conference Finals Stats:
Lebron 22/7/5
33% 3FG
75% FT
31.8% outside key
KD 25/7/4
37% 3FG
85% FT
41.5% outside key
So who's the real MVP?????
Imagine if KD had 7 teammates who hit 40% of 3FG? Imagine how much space he would have to score? Imagine if KD could relax and guard horrible offensive players like the Pacers?
