Yes, because trading a guard who wanted out after never getting them past the second round and had knee issues is the same as trading a 20 year old big man already putting up 20/10 who is destined to be a HOF talent on a rookie contract. don't know about basketball do you
Guess you didn't pay much attention to my statement. Just because Paul wanted out of New Orleans means to you that they give him away? Don't know much about business, do you? New Orleans is not too well known for getting much bang for the buck. You must be quite the seer if you're assured that unibrow is a hall a famer.

And Westbrook has made no comments about wanting out. What you're saying is just babble and CP3 being traded after whining to the media forever means nothing and it is completely ing re ed to think NO would do the same with Davis because of Paul. Just stop dude, you don't know what the you're talking about and made a re ed statement. Just quit before you embarrass yourself anymore, gnsf

That was a damned good article. I have no idea if OKC will get over the hump. I can't imagine them getting much better unless a Kawhi-like player falls into their laps.
I think falling short again will force them to make a move, IMO

They have plenty of ammo. They just need to be content to go into the tax. I do like the idea of them trying to get Pau Gasol. They could do that, use their TE to get a player like Wilson Chandler and still have the MLE to get a scoring guard (in addition to keeping at least one of their draft picks). But they can't keep being cheap when their core keeps getting more and more expensive.

They really aren't going anywhere with Brooks, though, especially in today's NBA..ISO-oriented coaches are being phased out, it doesn't work in today's league, and it'll continue to fail as more organizations are looking for a more team-oriented approach..

Yeah. I think they triangle would be a good offense for OKC (especially Durant) if they can get a low-post scorer to pair with Ibaka. On that subject, Coach Nick seems to think that Serge may struggle to learn a complex offense, as he often seems lost in Brooks' simplistic scheme. That would certainly be a huge hindrance to the Thunder improving.

I wonder if OKC were to fire Brooks if they'd consider Fisher for job. Kind of an Avery Johnson--like thing.

Definitely seems in the realm of consideration now. Both Westchimp and Durbeta may never be the same.

It's not them. It's the scrubs who are surrounding them. Presti didn't do to improve their roster, to prepare for such occurrences. They just assumed that Westbrook and Durant will be there forever. Well they're not there, and without them the Thunder roster looks like Ibaka and a bunch of D-Leaguers.

Its all of the above tbh. They stopped planning for the future to live in the now after the Harden trade. Weird turn of events.

Tbh Durant and Westbrook will be fine when they return. Now it's on the coach to manage their minutes. But how can he do that if there's a huge dip in talent after the two? Scott Brooks may be an idiot but he has no choice but to manage both of his stars' minutes, especially that period of initial games after their recovery from injury. He's gonna have no choice but to play those bench players who have no business being in the NBA.

Even Reggie Jackson, who is the closest thing to a really decent OKC player outside of RWB, KD and Ibaka, is also injured.

The injuries could really be a blessing in disguise. Now Brooks has no choice but to play his depth. They'll win far fewer games, but not enough to knock them out of the playoffs, and if they run into a situation in the postseason where neither Westbrook nor Durant is on the floor, they won't straight up panic.

All it will cost them, imo, is HCA. They likely won't have HCA for any round.

Only way they're upsetting the Spurs is if Pop and Co. expect a hard series and are disappointed.

Simmons is ing awesome. Sure, he's a homer and patently wrong about stuff, but at least he gives real takes and doesn't hedge on them, at least not all the time.

He's pretty solid, just when on tv or with Jalen he sounds like a moron.
