I don't remember--but didn't (in the book) the Red Viper have a little 'stinging' surprise for The Mountain? That Oberyn knew ahead of time that he'd probably not win and well, wanted to get his eye-for-an-eye.

Getting the confession was the most important thing for Oberyn. He wanted to kill the Mountain but he had to hear him admit what he did to his sister and implicate Tywin.
Well, he got that confession and everybody heard it so it's gonna be pretty big for the story moving forward.
Ridiculous ep and the next two should be even better tbh.

The Mountain never did admit that Tywin gave him the order. Also both he and Oberyn died at the same time. Imp should be deemed innocent or at least awarded an OT period tbh.
Does that turn house Martell against the throne completely now, via the Spider??

In the book he dons a helmet and gets the same treatment. I think the directors wanted a more gruesome end so they went sans the helmet.

They didn't die at the same time. Mountain couldn't have made dude's head explode while dead. It did look like he died right after, so Tyrion may try to argue, but they will probably just say it doesn't matter. Tyrion needs to escape if he wants to live.
I was waiting for Tyrion to throw up like he did in the book, and it never happened.He went from being happy about winning a second trial by combat to completely ed in a matter of seconds. lol Poor guy.
I remember the Mountain actually crushing his face in with punches, not squashing it with his hands. Hmm maybe I'm wrong. Martin needs to get around to announcing a release date for the new book so I can go back and read through them again.
I was so shocked I didn't know one way or the other if the Mountain lived after or not.
I was starting to get invested in Oberyn too. Definitely my second favorite to Tyrion up to this point.
If they kill Tyrion 's going to go down hill imo.

I liked Oberyn too. I dunno if he was my 2nd fav but I liked him. I also like Sir Jorah (he got screwed this episode too), Sir Barrester, John Snow, and the right hand guy to Stanos. I forget his name though. Oh and The Hound has become a fav for me plus Jamie has grown on me. I guess those are my favs with Tyrion lol. They killed some other favs already.
I agree too, if they kill Tyrion the show will lose a lot of charm. He's really been carrying the show. Great actor
Soooo want to spoil it for you..... but I wont. I already know what happens in the show vs the book. I've read the books already, but I also know the outcome of the show and how it differs from the book. It isn't too dissimilar but Jaime Lannister being there earlier than the books provide has a nice twist to it.
Nah don't man lol. I've managed to totally avoid spoilers so far and have really been into and enjoyed the show. Best show on tv imo since the first 2-3 seasons of Lost (went downhill after that)
