This place is chalk full of selfish Manu s who care more about Manu's stats than the team's success. What he do you expect?
I am a basketball fan not just a Spurs fan. Tony deserves this recognition. He is a basketball legend internationally and I frankly consider Spurs need him to fire in the finals. As a champion he will rise to the challenge. He is an achiever that has worked hard ; I doubt some of the knockers on this forum do either of those things.

Is this the worst first team in the history of the modern NBA?
Not sure which picks were worse, 1st team defense or 1st team all nba
welcome to the world of Manu s
Also, no Spur deserved all NBA this year. Maybe Duncan for 3rd team, but that's it.
How? Harden was clearly the best SG all season long, regardless if he had a terrible 1st round. James and Durant are two of the best players since Jordan. While Paul should have been on the 2nd team, its not a terrible selection. Even Noah won DPOY....It's a really damn good All NBA 1st Team on paper IMO.
Speaking on Parker, I'm always thrilled for any individual recognition the Spurs get. As the window closes, any individual accolades (Pop's CotY, RC's GMotY, All NBA, All Defensive team, etc.) only speaks volumes about how great the organization has been for a really long time.
Right on, man. I'm happy Tony received this honor ever though statistically it wasn't his best season. Too bad Timmy, Danny Green or Tiago Splitter didn't receive any recognition as well. They really were/are a team in every sense of the word this season.
deff deserved the nod
Even those of us who love Manu get really tired of the passive-aggressive left-handed compliments to Tony that some of the 'Manu-uber-alles' types consistently hand out (yeah, I'm lookin' at you, Nono). As in "people won't remember the season" or "finally he did something" or "token Spur".
Manu is and has always been my favorite Spur, but man I get sick of the "if you are appreciative of Parker then you have to hate Manu" and vice-versa.
TP has always beaten Chris Paul in any head-to-head match up in games, but Paul always gets the 'first-team' or 'best in the NBA' le because the system that Parker plays in requires him to head up an offensive set that involves lots of passing by folks that are not the pg, and that often have shots taken after the second or third pass of the offensive set, so his assists are rarely as high as those of a pass-first guard, and the type of offensive set the Spurs employ means that he is not going to score as much as score-first guards.
Most every player on the Spurs team forfeits individual stats to the team winning. It is the hallmark of the Spurs system. Thus, the fact that Parker led the spurs to the best record in the league this year (even missing more games than last year and not playing at the MVP level he played at last year) is not enough for some to appreciate what he does.
Manu and Tony are both contributors to this team, and the team is diminished without both of them. It is not, as some seem to insist, a zero-sum game.
And praising one does not require any back-door slights or put-downs of the other.
I love Tony Parker, I only have words of gra ude... not sure what you're talking about, tbh...
I know some fans here hate on Tony to prop up Gino and vice-versa, but I've never been like that. There's even pictures somewhere around this place of me celebrating a Tony game-winner...
I also don't even know why people think I always give Gino a pass or anything like that, I've been harsh on him too when he truly deserved it...
Saying Parker got the "token Spur" selection for the All Star Game and All NBA Team isn't a stretch at all tbh. He had a down year this season that was plagued by injuries. If anything, that's a compliment to TP considering he had such a terrific season last year.
I'm happy he got recognition but it is what it is tbh, since Lillard/Dragic had better regular seasons than him.....
That's the thing, this wasn't an award amongst Spurs, it was the entire league, and I personally think Tony had a down year (especially compared to how he looked like last year).
That said, I'm thrilled he added another perk to his illustrious career, this has nothing to do with Manu at all... not sure why Parker-uber-alles thinks this is personal or anything like that, tbh...
I've also criticized other selections too... Lebron should've been there in the 1st team, and CP3 on all-defense team is a joke, IMO...
If anything, Nono has been too easy on Parker this season tbh....
yeah, I actually been backing up Tony all season long, even when people lost faith in him and were ing about his play for France, etc...
I do have some troll threads here and there in the NBA forums for s and giggles, but you gotta know it's just to get TDMVPDPOYDPYUYD reaction...
Has the y Sunfan appeared whinning about Tony being ahead of Dragic?
you are always giving left-handed compliments to Parker tbh... that is among stuff we know and part of ST circus
I always like the "we cannot expect consistency out of Manu at his age while Parker is in his prime" for instance and his derivatives
this meltdown was totally random and hilarious, dude getting mad at an executive of the year award![]()
and I fully agree with that
I call him MVParker all the time (when he plays like MVParker)... I mean, have you ever seen TDMVPDOUIUERUYUWE ever say something like that?
He's always like: "fkn wanker chasing the finals mvp trophy, that's what that kent is doing"
I'm never like that (my "Mills >>>> Enrique" thread notwithstanding)
Sup Brazil, remember when I said Parker would at some point play like a female dog and go to the locker room with a minor ailment (lol ankle soreness) in the OKC series ?
Dear god far from me the idea to compare you with timvpdpotfwankeridiot![]()
Lol minor ailment
'soreness' is a major ailment?![]()
Lol soreness
