Pop with the bads

Is he nuts? Would you think that kind of comments could bring down Green, Mills and Marco´s confidence?
Head games. He's begging 'em to come out to the 3 point line and defend it, giving us the paint on a silver platter.
Pretty sure when Pop played there was no 3 point line. He's old school like that, so these comments aren't really surprising.
"...but you gotta use it."
He was just talking about how he feels. It isn't as if he's telling Green and Mills not to shoot threes. He's just an old school dude.
He has said the same thing about the hack a whoever strategy you use it cause it's there
Bird said the same thing. He hated the three point rule but hes not dumb, hes going to use whatever it takes to win.
The spurs make the three point shot one of their main priorities on offense, and have for years. Anybody taking pops comments in a negative light is just not being intelligent
I hate that op has no ability to comprehend multiple sentences.
Bird said he wanted the 3 point line moved out further mostly because he knew he could hit it from just about anywhere.
I like the reporter's questions. Not the usual, "How are you going to defend the Heat next game?" questions.
Abstract thought is a commodity in this forum.
True, Chris... not when he was playing, but the ABA was already using it when Pop was at the AF Academy. The 3-point line hit the college rule book while Popo was coaching at Pimona-Pitzer.
I will say that Tony Parker saying "I don't know why they (the Heat) keep leaving Danny Green WIDE OPEN" after game 5 just CRUSHED Danny's confidence for game 6 and 7. You never know how fragile guys can be when their game is criticized, especially by their own teammates/coaches. Danny Green wouldn't even make the D-League if he couldn't shoot the 3. Careful Pop...
Well it really isn't. It's a bonus form of basketball if you ask me.
Its a very Larry Brown opinion. Hes held the same one for a long long time.
Pop is a master of adaptation. Just because he does it doesnt mean he really likes it. Whatever it takes to win.
Pop also doesn't like the fact you can foul a guy who doesn't have the ball and force FTs. He uses it, but thinks it can ruin the game.
Pop with the Green CONFIDENCE KILLER...
"If he isn't making shots, there's no reason for him to be out there. [wipes sweat] And that's the god honest truth"
I'm waiting for when teams just forget about 2pters and just jack 3pt up all the time. It seems like what prevents teams from taking more sometimes is just the feeling they're taking too many. If you're really a good 3pt shooter you should be throwing up a 3 every time down. At least until the other team adjusts. Alot of playoff games and series have been won because one team caught fire from 3pt land.
If you watch games from the 70's, the ball movement was better, players took the open shot and there was much more strategy to get open for a good shot. Big men were much more important then as well. Teams scored more points, had a better shooting percentage, and everyone was more involved on offense. Like Pop said, ... it was real basketball.
