Kawhi refuses to jump when he plays defense. He won't contest at the rim. He's not an elite defender by any means. Just has long hands and gets the occasional steal. And on the offensive end he's gun shy.

He got his ass kicked by probably the best forward in league history. It's going to happen sometimes against a player like that.

There is no reason to jump, he played perfect defense on multiple occasions where LBJ scored, there is absolutely nothing you can do against probably the future GOAT, a guy that outweighs Leonard by 40lbs. He jumps and LBJ penetrates, pick your poison, I'd rather him shoot it.
James hit a lot of the shots you want him taking, just like in Game 7 last year. It's not like Kawhi got torched by Shawn Marion.
I think his defense was good enough, sometimes he did let Lebron by him a bit too easily but Diaw and him couldn't do much more on those jumpshots.
His offense was never that reliable, he is nothing more than Bruce Bowen on offense...
Defensively, he's fine. He's going against LeBron is why he looks so bad.

When Ray Allen is on the floor and the Spurs have Diaw on the floor, Leonard should be posting up Allen on every possession..it has worked all season long, no reason to go away from it now..they literally didn't run a single post play for him, despite having extreme success running that play, all season..
Kawhi's defense is fine. LeBron is a beast and it looks like the Spurs won't contain him this time.
I don't like his touches on offense though. That Splitter/Duncan lineup needs to end since Splitter went back to beta mode.
