Last years Championship (woops) and this years team and playoffs, the ball movement and involvement of players besides The 3 has been at most times beyond excellent.
In the mic'd up Game 2 today, Pop reemphasized, "Don't let the ball stick...." meaning keep the ball moving. If you do have to stop and look for an open player or decide to shoot or drive yourself, do it quickly.
My only complaint is that when Spurs players on their own go outside of this, namely Parker and Ginobili, they are given the Sacred Cow status and are not criticized by Pop. Unless he is behind closed doors.
Parker cut wayy down on his Hero Ball for much of Game 2, obviously by design as often when he crossed halfcourt he gave the ball up immediately. But then he reverts back to ballhog with the game on the line.Again, appears its not what Pop drew up.
Anywho props on 3 years of beauty ball movement when the Spurs do it.
thank godfor mills keeping the spurs in game. The sign that Spurs are in trouble is when Duncan is muscled out of the paint. When his teammates shoot James always go for rebound and if that takes a push he makes it; Spurs must block James out by standing squarely between himand net; otherwise he converts. Heat play to blockout Duncan better than Spurs do toblockout James. The Birdman was sent in with a mission on Duncan and he met the task.
they have 2 hands in Duncan's back, that's a foul, but remember the Miami LeBrons never foul.
