How serious is this Qatar business? I watched a segment on Vice about how the workers building the stadium and infrastructure for the 2022 WC are dying of a mul ude of causes and the conditions over there are deplorable.

A re-vote for the 2022 World Cup could also lead to a re-vote for the 2018 World Cup, as the bids were joint.

I have no problem if Germans buy the votes to host another World Cup because Germany is a top-notch country to host any sporting event.
FIFA probably wouldn't backpedal on either Russia or Qatar. They have accepted far worse in their history ('34, '78). And the bribes have already been spent in coke, 14 year old hookers, champagne and such.
Loooong way to go, but 2030 could go to Argentina/Uruguay joint bid. 100 years since first World Cup 'n all that. The word on this has already been going for a few years.
So, that would leave 2026 to decide. It'll go between Europe, a joint North American bid (US/Canada or US/Mexico), or Australia's first ever, with the chance a of a handful of matches in New Zealand.
Yeah, they're not gonna backpedal on the decision especially with these two countries. If FIFA backpedals and overturns any of the two hosting bids won by Russia and Qatar, it's gonna cause a World War 3 and/or terrorist attacks all over the world.
