Per 24/7, WR Ryan Newsome will be on the West Coast this week visiting USC and UCLA.
Thanks for doing that.

A great article by Max Olson on how the coaching changes at Texas affected more than 100 coaches across the country.

According to 24/7, CB Roney Elam will visit Texas this Friday and then Arkansas on June 21st before making a decision.
My guess is RB Kevin Shorter will be his host now that he's moved to campus.
May not mean anything in the long run, but 24/7 saying 2016 OL Patrick Hudson of Silsbee attended the Baylor summer camp yesterday.
A&M mods mentioned he is open to visits and has said so since he committed.
@JFowlerCBS
The Cavs are having such a hard time filling their coaching vacancy that they've moved on to James Franklin, Al Golden and Mike Munchak
Seems like that dude is going to wait until signing day to choose.
And he can afford to.
I forgot to mention that 2016 OL JP Urquidez was NOT offered while visiting A&M yesterday which was a surprise to everyone.
A small victory for Texas since he's moving to Maryland and it won't be nearly as easy for him to take visits.
Texas is fighting a tough battle right now with a handful of their biggest targets (Warren, Newsome, Townsend, Hill, etc.). Several of them have UT as their #1, but they want to enjoy the process and/or wait to see what Strong can do in the fall before deciding. UT may be left with their D in their hand on certain prospects if their season doesn't go well.
Here's a look at some of the biggest names attending the QB camp this week (24/7):
2016
Cody Brewer, Corpus Christi Flour Bluff
Messiah deWeaver, Trotwood-Madison (Trotwood, OH)
Seth Green, East Ridge (St. Paul, MN)
Jalen Hurts, Channelview
Shea Patterson, Calvary Baptist (Shreveport, LA)
Dillon Sterling-Cole, West Orange-Stark
Devin Williams, Mansfield Timberview
Brennen Wooten, Marble Falls
2017
Shawn Robinson, Denton Guyer
I really like Jalen Hurts. I saw he won QB MVP at a Rivals camp this spring, so I looked him up and came away fairly impressed. Great looking guy!
Burton of 24/7 says that Monroe has been playing 2nd string this spring for North Shore and that might be the reason why Texas haven't offered. One of the users added that he had heard that Monroe has some maturity issues and that is one of the reasons why he is looking for a father figure in a future HC.
Hard to know what to believe since there are rumors out there that 2016 ATH Christian Wallace was kicked out of Sealy for grade/at ude problems and he was offered yesterday.
QB Kai Locksley tells Scout that the fact that Texas have a QB commitment, doesn't effect his decision. Anywhere he would go, he would have to compete. Whether or not that compe ion comes from a guy in his recruiting class doesn't matter. He looks forward to meet Watson and see if all the good things he has heard about him is true.
I can't post direct quotes since I don't have a Scout subscription, but it is still possible to read most of their articles without marking the text.
Heroin bust at the house of Mississippi State DB coach:

He just tweeted he rec'd LSU offer.
Would love to know what Strong/Watson are telling Gentry right now. It seems the idea of not taking a second QB for '15 isn't completely true because they're recruiting Locksley just hard enough to stay in the game. Hope it doesn't backfire.
Figured he'd stay closer to home.
Update on OL Madison Akamnonu of Arlington Bowie (24/7):
“I’ve read that he’s told people that they’re in his top four or five or whatever,” said one source. “He sort of backed off the stance that they’re his top two, but that’s not the case. It will be one of those two schools (Oklahoma or Texas) for sure.”
“I think it is close,” said the other source. “Real close. I think he goes back and forth each day, but I think that Texas has a slight, slight edge. Coach (Joe) Wickline has been locking him up through and he has noticed the attention he’s received from there. I just know that Texas is sitting in a good spot with him based on a few conversations. I think they’ll end up getting him."
“He’s also paid attention to the offensive line that Wickline is putting together down there,” the source added. “He knows he would be surrounded by some of the best talent on the offensive line that is possible.”
Texas JUCO target DT Motekiai Maile of Tyler has committed to Oklahoma State.
Article on WR DaMarkus Lodge and his relationship with Coach Wyatt.
Loves the guy so much he claims he'd de-commit and sign with whatever school hires him.
