I say yes. And this may turn out to be a historic postseason run with the # of 15 point wins and multiple records set.

As I said in the Spurs forum, they are the best team I have ever seen, and probably the best team since the 80s, but they won't receive the credit due to lack of star power..

    - They can play any style of play, from run&gun to grinding, 2-big defensive style
    - Shooters all over the roster
    - 2 great perimeter defenders that can shoot the 3
    - An elite all-around defensive big and a good rim protecting big
    - 3 great passing bigs, including one of the best passing bigs of all-time(Diaw)
    - 3 wing penetrators
    - 2 great pick&roll perimeter players
    - GOAT coach
    - One of the best benches of all-time
    - Stretch big and a great small-ball 4

    best team ever?

My eyeball test is telling me this is an all time great team.

As far as the recent champions, I cannot think of a comparable one besides the 2008 Celtics.

The 2009 Celtics could have been as good if KG hadn't gotten hurt, tbh..

The 2002 Lakers weren't as good as the 2001 Lakers, but that team struggled with Sacramento's ball-movement, a team that doesn't have the shooters or defenders that this Spurs team has..

I think they are one of the best teams I've ever seen, I think last year's team was really good too but this years is even better.

Keep in mind basketball is evolving, and I think the analytics/coaching evolution the Spurs in 2014 benefit from means they're probably better than the 2002 Lakers in a hypothetical.

Obliterating teams in the second round, WCF and Finals by 20-30 points is not normal. Ive always thought the '99 Spurs were the best Spurs team ever and that they never got the respect they deserved...but this team is probably better. From Game 7 vs Dallas on out this has been a historic run tbh.

the Spurs are +197 and 15-7 in the playoffs. for a margin of victory of 9 ppg

even more ridiculous, throw out the first 6 games of the Mavs series, and its 12.9 ppg.

    4-0 tbh

and including last year, we're 5 FT's away from being b2b champs including a sweep this year

I'm leaning towards this team. Ending those Pistons run was quite impressive. 4-1 over impressive Suns team

dont forget they went up against gayray that year who had a very good sonics team built around physical play which the spurs eventually overcame

If they don't choke, they're the best team since the post-Jordan-era at least. Could they handle those 90's Bulls teams? I'm unsure (they do beat the 98 Bulls, though. Team was taken to almost 7 by Karl Malne) It's not about "Jordan is GOAT, therefore they win," but I do think their speedy and lengthy perimeter defense of Jordan and Pippen would obviously adapt well to the demands of today's game and they would flourish well offensively. Rodman would bother Diaw, but since Diaw plays on the perimeter, Rodman guarding him would neutralize his rebounding. Spurs would rule the o-glass. Also, Longley would be a huge liability. You might have to play Rodman at center and Toni Kukoc as your stretch 4 (which kills their depth). Ron Harper would be a weak link, too. Those Bulls teams also weren't much of a 3 peat point threat and ran the Triangle, which might be too slow of an offense for the swarming defense of the Spurs.

It really would be Pip and MJ against the Spurs.

I think they could beat the '97 Bulls. '96 Bulls were practically the same team, so they'd have a chance against them, too.

The versatility of this team is astounding. Everyone has good handles, can shoot the rock, good vision for passing, and most importantly we have elite wing defense with Tim Duncan guarding the rim. We have a buffet of options and you just have to pick your poison against us and hope our shooters go really, really cold, which is difficult when we also score in the paint so well.

Wow acting like the series is over. It might be, but I don't feel like it is. If the Spus lose the series, they'll be the complete opposite despite the lopsided scores.
