I'm starting to think you're Koolaid_Man's alt.
I was in Bakersfield today, we like to have breakfast at this locally owned restaurant in Oildale (Merle Haggard) then hit the thrift shops (Bakersfield has tons). At a place called St. Vincents I almost scored a four cassette set featuring DooWop from 1948 to the late 60's. Yep, The Orioles, The Crows, The Platters, and 98 other DooWop vocal groups. A few I'd never heard of which surprised the out of me.
I was actually pretty excited about it, forget the fact I already owned more than half of the songs. Being a four tape set it was in a cool little box with a picture of a few of the groups on it. When I opened the box.....Bing Crosby sings Christmas...Rosemary Clooney...Andy Williams...and Perry Como....
But...there was a fantastic booklet also there. A history of the music and a little bio on those 101 groups.
Avante....as you can see this isn't Doo Wop.
Little Mexican lady...I not know.
Avante...how about two bucks for just this book and box, I don't want the tapes?
LML...it say 5 dollar.
Avante...yes I know but the tapes don't belong in this box. Nobody will buy it as is.
LML...let me talk to manager.
(she leaves, a few minutes later....)
Big Mexican lady....yes?
Avante...(I run it all down to her)
BML...well I do know Bing Crosby isn't Doo Wop. How about three bucks?
Avante...sold!
In this booklet it has a time line for black recordings. Yep, the history of black recorded music in America. The first recording by a black group was in 1902 when....The Virginia Dinwiddie Quartet... recorded five gospel songs and a pop "Down at the Old Camp Ground".
Black Swan the first black owned record label which zeroed on on the black audience came along in 1921. These records are extremely rare since they pressed so few of them, to collectors they are the Holy Grail.
In 1942 ...The Harlem Hit Parade...came into existence, the first chart rankings of contempory black recordings for black audiences, yep.."Race Records".
I find this stuff fascinating.
Do yourself a favor and youtube...
The Cats & The Fiddle
The Five Breezes
The Five Keys
Spaneils
The Crows
The Chords
.....see where it all began. Yep, all before Elvis in 1954.
One of the very first black vocal groups.

And do they ever!
Stupid is as stupid does.
And what is the funniest of all is that they appear to love flashing their stupid badge a lot.
And since nothing they post is funny, we laugh AT them, and not WITH them!

Been laughing ..AT..them for as long as I've been here.
Not me. Honestly I wasn't very aware of trolling activities other than the wit of the older trolls like Mouse who made a creative art of it.
These new trollish idiots now are just too uneducated and unfunny to be anything but a wannabe troll except when they make fools of themselves tbh.

Bull . Your obese ass was sitting in your -stained Lazyboy and you saw one of the nonstop ads for that new movie Jersey Boys, which led to an hour of Wikipedia research to make this thread.
Then there's always reality....
Just today I'll add...
The Best of John Lee Hooker
The Best of Jimmy Reed
The Velvet Underground with Nico
The Best of Billie Holliday
The Best of Frankie Lymon and the Teenagers
..to my immense/gigantic CD collection. All for..5 bucks!
I'm the real deal little fella, the genuine article. Been kneedeep into music all my life.
I own at least 25 CD's/tapes featuring that 1950's Doo Wop sound. Now add the book...The Sounds of the City...a must read for anyone into the origins of it all.
So you're about..100% wrong. Little man Bakersfield is less than an hour away.
One of musicdoms true classics.

Those are some great artists you mention there.
You truly have quite an amazing collection. It beats my collection and I thought mine was pretty rare and extensive.
Anyone disputing this and does not appreciate your collection is a pure D idiot.
Either that or they know absolutely zero about good music!
That coming from a leech, hahaha!!!!!!!!
We do have a lot of know nothing kids here bro.
I'm pretty much covered from an historical perspective when it comes to blues, country, oldies, rock, R&B. Weak in punk, heavy metal and rap but that's by design. Do have some jazz and classical but more of a.....might as well.....type thing.
I'm pushing around 6,000 individual CD's and tapes.
Jazz and classical too?
Smart man!
