That only proves Luvas point Mid.
Then by extension, player of the month awards are farces too, right?
You being a Lakers fan shouldn't give a about regular season accomplishments. I don't.
Your boy Karl Malone won 2 MVPs and choked both of those years in the playoffs. Who gives a about players winning regular season awards in which they can rack up big games against the bottom dwellers of the league.
That only proves Luvas point Mid.
He's usually pretty sharp. There was a reason I left Lebron off of my original post. I knew he'd come running with it.
It shows the hypocrisy. Who votes POM is it the NBA or media. Why wouldnt Kobe have the awards based on his play like Lebron does. Just admit when you're wrong dude....nothing you say will convince me to turn a blind eye to logic
Yep...he fell for that one hook line and sinker. Lol
The media votes both. One year Kobe won 3 player of the months during a year Nash won none... and Nash won MVP. There is no logic to how these Nerds vote. Hating Kobe was enough.
Nobody gives a about player of the week/month Don Glover.. Aside from you.
Yep...he didnt fit the mold of young dumb black guy from the hood so they hated him. Now look at Shaq and look at Kobe...They tried to build Lebron up but tonight the ball aint gonna lie...Lebron is not in Kobes class..no matter how much Midget tried to pimp him.
That exactly the reply I wanted. I know you think James is overrated and he's the most dominant regular season player of this generation.
Just so we're clear, you don't take Player of the Month awards seriously?
Too many factors can go into how a player wins the award. Maybe the best player in the league is on a great team and his team wins a lot of blowouts, meaning his minutes will be reduced and he can't pad his stats. Or maybe the coaches are managing their stars' minutes.
Take a hypothetical player that averages 26 and 13 on 55% every game. By year's end (if his team is good), he'll probably be the MVP, but he might not have any PoM awards because his stats don't fluctuate between big highs and lows, e.g, he doesn't average 35 one week and then 17 the next. He might not win any PoM because of how often players get hot for a month.
Most companies want you to show why you're deserving a raise. ...Kobe showed them why but they still refused to pay....so to speak
U should have remained quiet. Luvas bout to bend u ova.
How the would you know what big companies want from nba players when you work at popeyes chicken is beyond me.. Ur nobody.
But ultimately, they're regular season awards. You should pay them no mind. Nash probably deserves none because he only plays one side of the ball.
Also, when I consider all-time greats, regular season awards don't factor in.
Kobestans resorting to Player of the Month awards. How the lowly have have even more....
But I agree with him if he believes regular season PoM, MVPs=overrated.
I don't care about those awards myself.
Whats so funny about Mids response is he's implying the best player wins the awards...if the best player can sit or rest because his team is so good is he really the MVP if his team is so good till he can afford to be rested.
at least 70% of nba fans think kobe is still better than duncan even at 5-5
Its all about the ESPN naarative dawg.
I'm only responding to the criteria that you guys and the media set to reduce Kobe's legacy. I don't expect fairness in life, but to cheat a man should not go unrecognized. This is why I respect Bird's opinion on the matter. The criteria for league MVP is to give it to the best player on the best team. Yet, Lebron and Duncan won back2back MVP's during years that Kobe won back2back les. Based upon the evidence I've presented, there seems to be no rhyme or reason as to how they give award, which leaves one to question the bias tradition the media has set against Kobe.
I'm not implying that all. I told you I don't put much stock into the award. Karl Malone won it in 1997, putting up a monster year, and then proceeded to shoot .435 in the playoffs.
Lebron losing tonight will mean more to me than anything Duncan does. I want ESPiN to pay..
In the Regular Season.
Duncan won the MVP in '03, as well as the le.
I thought Duncan should've been the MVP in '99, but the media once again gave it to that choker Malone.
It is what it is. Don't take it too seriously.
It won't matter because they've already set the stage for a new narrative. "He doesn't have enough help." The pursue for Melo has been chanted before the finals is even over.
I've never taken it serious... which is why I throw all-star mvp's out there. But when I do... you guys claim they hold no weight... and they don't, but neither does a regular season MVP. I judge legacies and a players skill level when I evaluate them. You guys use shooting percentage to claim Lebron is better than Kobe. Right? Malone and Barkley shot better from the field than Duncan. Both averaged more points, and Barkley was a better rebounder. When I say Barkley and Malone are better players you guys think its absurd. Why, because you're going off the eye test and the intangibles that don't show up in stats. When I use the same method with Kobe, you guys simple run to shooting percentage.
And you wonder why the alltime greats prefer Kobe over Lebron....the coddling of Bron is ridicolous....if melo had any balls he would steer clear of Miami.
