I was actually impressed with England. I thought they actually looked like a "team" for the first time in long while. I think if they can mentally hold it together (tough with their ty scandal seeking media) they can do some damage, although i don't think they will win it.

Det Pirlo. 110 passes, 102 completed, 92.73% completion.
Pirlo, Del Piero and Maldini my favorite Italian players of all-time, tbh.

The rest can eat a bag of baby s.

Someone with some sense tbh, people in here ting on England when they played some nice attacking football and weren't far off at least getting a draw.

Your list is invalid without Balotelli tbh. How can anyone not like the guy despite having a crazy mind

Mine are Pirlo, Maldini and Balotelli.

Is Sterling allergic to passing? Over dribbled time and time again yesterday...

Of course he was trying to do something but still, too often he lost the ball!

14' Pirlo is like 06' Zidane imho, Italia will put up a good fight this year but will still fall short in the finals before the 4th Reich imho. Germany will win the Cup this year I believe, they're stacked as .

you are wrong. The germans are missing pieces and the average knowledgeable german fan knows this. Even with said pieces the germans are too uncreative and a good defensive side will give them alot of trouble. They ain't making it to the finals.

Also pirlo does not play like zidane that much due to a difference in physicality and because he plays more from the back. More like xavi. They both control the flow of the game. Zidane's position and impact were pretty much unique.

at least they have higher chances of advancing to the second round

I actually thought Uruguay was gonna get far, many of us probably thought that. But funny how football works

Lugano is out..is this a huge setback for Uruguay? I know he sucks ass at club level but he's the captain, does he play well internationally?

Honestly we're all happy he is not playing tbh. He has great character as a leader but is damn slow nowadays. Internationally he has always been a beast and a guaranteed yellow card for bringing down your best player in a timely manner...

All in all, this is good news for Uruguay as sterling or sturridge would have a field day with him. Godin is ready to supplant the vocal leadership he used to provide and likely should also be named captain of the squad without Lugano.
