I think it would be fantastic for the LBGT community if they had an icon like Tim Duncan to represent them. However, he has a fine girlfriend and is a great dad to his children with his ex-wife, so that dream seems to be effectively torpedoed.

Duncan clearly isn't the scoring machine that Wilt was, but what Duncan lacks in that department he makes up for in leadership and good fundamental defense. He still produces for the Spurs, but he close to reaching a point where he will have to be considered a role player due to low minutes if he plays more than just another season or two.

You're not paying attention, J.T., comparing his numbers to Wilt's or Kareem's, he's been a role player his entire ing career. Jim is nothing but a fart in history when compared to great Centers.

His gf is a rental from central casting, J. And his ex didn't see the light until he paid her to see it.

Well, Tim was elite in his prime when the Spurs ran everything through him. He might not have had the game of Wilt or Kareem, but when Wilt and Kareem are the only two guys ahead of you on the all-time big man list, you're probably a really ing good basketball player.

Except, you know, rings and Finals MVPs. That doesn't really help Wilt much.

Hmmm... it's funny how things are relevant. When Jordan is the only wing player mentioned ahead of Kobe you guys make it seem like an insult.

And 3 less les as well. Wilt was a ing playoff choker and he should never be mentioned in the same sentence as Tim Duncan. That being said, Laker fan should know the drill: Duncan>Kobe

It's amazing that Duncan is already better than 3 of the greatest players in Lakers franchise history

Before laker fans would just use the ring argument that it's the only thing that matters. Now that tim got 5 they desperately look at other things to try to discredit him. Hypocrites

I'll just say this. 6 humbled me as a sports fan. Like every Spurs fans, I took the bait. Of course I'm always aware that LeBron James can win any game when he's on the floor, but I thought they'd close the game. They didn't, and as a result of getting my hopes up, I was categorically depressed. As I moved on from that, I learned to just watch sports and see it for the great game that it is. Not just appreciating the Spurs, but the fact that other teams have great talent and are not easily defeated.

In the glory days of the Spurs and Lakers rivalry, when the winner would go on to win the championship each time it seemed like, I was always afraid of playing the Lakers because of Kobe. I don't mean to diminish anything Shaq did. He was a force and I certainly feared how we would match up with him too. But Kobe is an assassin. He always seemed to have great games against the Spurs. He could drive the lane, hit midrange shots and it seemed like every time he hit a 3, he just jacked it up, it went in and he runs back on D saying "Yeah, you." Michael Jordan is the greatest player ever. His accomplishments are there to see and no one can dispute that. But Kobe is certainly not far behind, and true fans of the NBA recognize that.

A lot of people here are dip s, Buddy. If they want to slam Kobe for not being Jordan, then brush them haters off.
