bawss
Calling his shot and then putting to bed the 2x defending champions. What a f'n boss.
If MJ, Lebron, or Kirby had made this claim and then won the Finals, it would have been one of the most talked about things in NBA history, instead ESPN just used it try and pump up Bron and then never mention it again........
What a legendary player tbh.
That was ing awesome, tbh. They better replay that whenever they talk about this year's run.
It's funny Lebron tried to used it as bulletin material and it backfired. "They wanted us, they got us." I remember it didn't work too well when TD said that last time in '11. But this time he really delivered especially defensively. It looked like there was a lid on the basket. Most fans probably don't appreciate how good he was in shutting down the paint. It's interesting. Shutting down the paint was key to our defense.
Michael Jordan wants Tim Duncan on his team in the afterlife. Book it.
Spurs collectively dragged their balls across the NBA this playoffs. Portland tweeted they were going to be in the Finals early in the season and they got drug, OKC got murked on their own floor with no Parker and the Heat showed very little resistance as Leonard swung his huge johnson at them en route to wrapping up the series in five and taking home the Finals MVP.
Duncan calling the shot was just extra on the face, tbh.
Congrats on the reinstatement after that Manu tres you unleashed on the YH a few back.
Nailed it. Even if the national media forget, it will be part of Spurs lore forever. Literally a legendary move.
Most dominating playoff team ever.
Just let that sink in.
tbh it wasn't Duncan who won it for us. It was Pop, Diaw, Green, Leonard and Manu (and even Mills). Don't get me wrong -- Duncan was good, but not really great.
Jordan and Duncan playing together in a 15 year career might have gone 15 for 15.
He was dominant in game one and played great defense in the paint all series long. He didn't win it for us but we don't win without him
Stars, Ewing and Anthony Mason would have taken at least 1
This isnt getting the attention it should.
That's a better way of putting it I think. Duncan was great in game 1, but the Heat adjusted, then Pop went HOF on em and it was rearview mirror from that point onward.
Chris Bosh also called his shot game 5....
This was probably the greatest team championship that I have ever seen. Nobody was really that stand out MVP because so many people did a great job
Got a clip of that one.
I honestly can't remember the last time a superstar called his own shot in a single elimination playoff, let alone a 7 game series tbh.....
Maybe Welker/Brady when the Pats played the Giants again but we know how that turned out![]()
Just saw Harlem's post downstairs basically stating the exact same thing, oh well this belongs upstairs as well tbh.........
He basically closed up the paint. He defended it like his life depended on it.
A true alpha unlike Kobe
If it were some bull media hyped player like Joe Namath it gets talked about for years! Although he hardly did in the Superbowl and his running game was boss he gets quoted with the guarantee! That got him in the HOF with horrible numbers etc. Tim Duncan a surefire HOF does it before a series against the 2 time champs and it has been overlooked! Only a few bball fans know about it I talk to outside of the forums. That was BOSS! It's as if he knew they were better or had a crystal ball.
They say father time is undefeated but he's been ducking Tim Duncan his whole career.
