No way in . There were huge sections of the upper deck that were open. Probably at least 6000 empty seats. Bull that the cops shut down entrance, but I talked one into letting me on the grounds and then got in.
Just got home from the Alamodome. It was surprisingly short after waiting like 3 hours for it to start but it was still awesome. Place was rockin'.

Celebration was cool for two reasons...got to cross burning a Jat the Dome during a Spurs championship celebration off my bucket list and Tony Parker's limo drove by us as we were walking back.
Can we say that the Spurs intentionally put Patty in the same boat with Duncan at the Riverwalk and then gave him the role of a presenter in the Dome?
To me that's quite a signal that he's staying with the team.
For the guys that question Tim's decision - it's not his style to put himself in the limelight when the party is for the whole organisation.
He will have a better opportunity to announce that he'll stay for one or two years and he will do it without fireworks.
I got alot of flak for my earlier comments about Patty's speech, and I will say I was wrong. He did a fine job. I just wish he hadn't shunned Pop, however unintentional it was.
Thanks for the river parade videos. Damn Kawhi was loud![]()
go root for another team
that was a nice celebration ... now lets get everybody back on the team, and I do not say that because I am greedy for another le, I am very much at peace with myself now with 5, but watching one more year with this group playing that kind of basketball (or even being able to bring some more twists to the incredible offense) would be great!
Happy for the city and the whole Spurs organization.
I too thought Parker looked a little disinterested or distant during the celebration at the Alamodome. During the group picture he doesn't look to happy to be there. Who knows? Maybe he was tired or something else, but it was something I noticed. I'm sure its nothing, but its just an observation I made.
Also, can anyone confirm this, but did anyone else see Nia Long on the coaching staff river barg? She was wearing black and had some sunglasses on? It went by too fast and I couldn't confirm if it was her or not. I'm about 85% sure it was her, but wondering if anyone else saw her.
Holy , I'm definitely the odd-man out but I was bored to last night. Waited 5 hours to watch the roster be introduced twice and to see the Big
3 answer one question. I saw Game 5 twice, man.
But it was still a neat experience I'll keep in mind for a long time. I'll just forget the other stuff before it lol.
It'd be cool if there was a front camera angle of this video of Pop doing a less enthusiastic version of his 99 dance:
He didn't shun him, unless you use a looser definition of shun. He acknowledged him with a joke that went under the radar, fell flat, or both. However, it is the type of joke that is made about Pop, often. Patty said something to the effect of: "This next person, I really can't think of much to say, as the only thing that comes to my mind when thinking of him is a bunch of swear words. Sorry, Pop." He was attempting to poke fun, unsuccessfully, at Pop's notorious reputation for being surly.
He could have done a better job with the comedy, there. Or, he could have told a story about Pop. But, his joke was not out of the ordinary. Pop likes to remain out of the limelight, and players are always making reference to him in a manner that respects that. Parker did it recently, saying "Pop doesn't like me to talk about him." Even better, Manu killed a room by doing it. After the western conference finals, Manu was asked what he thought of the job Pop had done this year bringing them back to the finals. Manu deadpan answered: "It's OK." Nothing else was said.
The room died laughing, including Pop.
This was not a slight toward Pop, nor was Patty's little joke. Manu was just funny.
I have watched all five of them, and this one was different. They wanted Patty to do it as a sign of respect. They are wooing him. Courting him. Another poster mentioned it, previously, but Tim put the microphone in Patty's face when Tim was asked if he was returning. There could have been more comedy, and length. I wish it was longer. No fan wanted it to end. But, the players are probably tired as . Matty or Manu may have done better, but they wanted Patty to feel the love. He was probably even asked/told to keep it short. It was over in under an hour. Too perfunctory for my tastes, but I still can't blame them.
As you said, Patty did a fine job.
Two things I noticed were the look on Daye's face when he entered the Alamodome like "this is the last time I put on a Spurs uniform" and the totally overt thing of having Mills do the talking to get him to want to stay. On Mills and Diaw, they both know this right now is the chance to make the most money they will both probably ever have in their careers so they will play a bit of hardball with management but Im pretty sure both would love to stay if the money is close.
It's hard to imagine anyone leaving this team, but hey, it's business.
Sorry bro, I ain't ever not gonna be a Spur fan, no quitting on my team here. How fitting your username is T Park, you're also a big time .
The Spurs are in a great cap situation to retain both Boris and Patty. They're $11 million under the cap and $25 million under the luxury tax level currently with everyone but Mills, Diaw, Bonner, Baynes, and Daye under contract. They can bring Baynes back for the $1.1 million qualifying offer. What the Spurs will likely do is offer both Mills and Diaw frontloaded contracts because they have so much room under the luxury tax this year.
I don't think you can read anything into Patty doing the emceeing other than the fact that he likes to talk in front of crowds and likes to hear himself talk in front of crowds. He's apparently a natural at holding court and the team was aware of it so they let him do the honors. He has the gift of gab. Has no bearing on whether he will or won't stay, imo tbh.
how'd you manage that
In a rare episode of Two Dudes Go To The Bathroom Together, me and my homey went into stalls right next to each other and passed the joint underneath. There were cops stationed outside most of the restrooms, but not this one. Also people at the Alamodome were much too preoccupied with getting their got damned nachos and Pepsi to notice two guys walking around reeking of weed. We burned that J like five minutes before the Spurs showed up so by the time we got back to our seats the timing was perfect.
believe it or not, pop was DANCING WITH ME in that video.. i was up on top of one of those big railings over the street.. climbed up it and had a PERFECT view.. i was going nuts and bouncing to the music as the boat came by .. you can tell pop doesnt start dancing till he turns around and looks up .. thats me.. such a great feeling to be bouncing with the GOAT coach.. also his homeboy right in front of pop is pointing at me and throws me a thumbs up.. any idea who that coach was?
the parade was AMAZING but they didnt let me in the alamodome![]()
Same here. A guy in the Austin Spurs group invited as all to his room in the Omni with balcony overlooking the Riverwalk. We had a second floor view of the river parade. By the time we walked over to the dome they were turning people away. That sucked but I've been to that the previous 3 times. This was my first time seeing the parade live. I'll post my pics later, my wife took some amazing ones.
The only reason those sections were empty were because you couldn't hear a damn thing patty or anyone was saying that high up it just sounded like noise so everybody chose to leave and watch from the section openings on the lower levels. There was a ton of people i believe the record attendance
I was just repeating what Ksat was reporting. No worries.
