He needed superstar helpPERIOD. Don't it. It is what it is.

Kobe could have left as a FA. But he stayed and won two more chips. Duncan gets my props for staying too when he could have joined T-Mac and G Hill in Orlando. It was so much of a possibility that the Admiral cut his vacation short to talk him out of it.

    LeCoward should take notes.
Everyone needs superstar help, including Kobe, Duncan, and MJ.

Such a re ed picture, considering MJ had the benefit of his team landing some nice draft picks to grow up with, and then on his return from "retirement" ended up being surrounded by arguably the most well built, balanced team in NBA history. Then there was Kobe who had the benefit of landing on a team that just signed arguably the most dominating player in NBA history. And when things went bad for Kobe, he tried to cry his way out of his contract with LA because they weren't getting him any good talent.

Lebron landed on a team that had no idea how the to draft, couldn't court any free agents, yet he still somehow carried them to the Finals and multiple playoff runs in which they lost against some good teams. And at least Lebron waited patiently and stuck up for his organization until his contract fully expired. The way he did it with "the decision" wasn't cool, but at least he admitted to it and even apologized for it. But who's to say that MJ or Kobe wouldn't have left their team in FA if they were in the same situation? Fact is, them, and basically no other superstar that won les was ever in such a situation. Everyone who won les had stacked teams that either loaded up in FA, or drafted well to keep them surrounded with talent.

I assume you are talking about 03 Duncan.

Either way, him, Dirk, and Hakeem won those les with extremely balanced, well built squads. Instead of one super-talented player, they had 4-5 players with good, complimentary talent. Lebron didn't have that in Cleveland.

The Shaq (kobe) part is too stupid to bother addressing.

And 1999 Duncan, who was the superstar? So no not everyone needs superstar help to win. And Shaq dominated so much that you could also say you could have replaced Kobe with a more balanced team and he still wins. Kobe averaged 15 PPG in the 00 finals.

Ok. Let me rephrase. People needs either superstar help, or an incredibly well built team with good talent. Lebron didn't have either of those in Cleveland.

So lakerfans now resort to instagram pictures? Is Lebron that far up and better than Kobe in GOAT lists that you have to resort to this kind of gotry? Tbh.

He lost 3 Finals. Once with his own team. Twice with a stacked team he joined through collusion because he was tired of Paul Pierce pushing his in.

He won 2 Finals**. He was bailed out by the heroics of Mike Miller in '12. Then Ray Allen bailed his punkass out last year.

So had he not gotten bailed out them two years, he's no better than CP0 and is an 0-ferPERIOD. 2/5 Finals. Kobe won 5/7.

The funny part is, 2010-2014 cHeat teams were all stacked. You mean to tell me the GOAT could only muster 2** Finals wins? 60% of his Finals appearances resulted in losses. He couldn't muster more than 1-win (game, not a series) against TD whereas Kobe has a winning playoff series record vs. TD. These LeHype Finals losses were epic too. In 2007 he was swept. This year he won a game he should have loss. Then 22-year old non-allstar Kiwi took his cookie and his FMVP trophy.

Not sure why you farmers still insist on comparing LeHype to Kobe. It's futile.

You keep saying his teams were stacked and should have won more. Let's reverse it....

Kobe had Prime Shaq is the 3peat. You would be a total idiot to say he was the alpha on that one.
After years of disappointments, voila! Kobe was gifted with Pau Gasol. No shock, they move on to win a b2b with 3 straight finals appearances with Gasol leading LA in advanced metrics. Even if Kobe won 2 fmvp's everyone outside of Laker planet knew that Pau was the mvp on that b2b.

If you keep on ting on Lebron because he had stacked teams and how he was kept on being bailed out then how about Kobe having 2 best bigmen(in those respective years), well-balanced team? Kobe's role was 2nd banana to all his 5 'ships while LeBron was clearly the alpha in all of his wins/loses in the finals. So I agree, comparing Kobe to Lebron is futile because clearly Lebron's better.

I still don't know why people criticize James' move?

If the goal of an athlete is to win rings, why not give yourself the best chance? Jordan's quote of "I wouldn't have teamed with Magic, Larry..." is illogical. He's not competing one-on-one against them. They're not his "rivals" since NBA basketball isn't a one-on-one compe ion. I think it'd be more selfish to stay on a losing franchise because you want to pad your stats and be the "man" rather than take a reduced role by teaming with other players of your caliber.

I know Lkrfan is ready to throw at me, but Kobe did indeed force his way to the Lakers because he knew that's where he'd have the most team success. Karl Malone and Gary Payton also tried the same thing.
Kobe forcing his way to LA meant nothing...he was an unproven commodity....Lebron on the other hand had won several MVP's and had been to the finals...so the comparison is so far off base till it ain't even funny.....Shaq and Kobe got to LA at the same time and didn't start winning until years later when the high school kid Kobe came into his own...I will take it easy on you this morning mid because I as in I is feeling good

Should I post Kobe's numbers during the 3 peat again to make a total fool of your bull opinions....I've already written about Kobe;s dominance during the 3 peat ad naseum and more than happy to flambe some more ass if I have to...Kobe's and Shaq's numbers were equal....Kobe's numbers as 2nd option in LA were better than Duncan's as first option in SA....I think I will post them just to on you for fun....remember Shaq couldn't win without Kobe....he went to the finals...he had Penny and lost....he had Nick Van Exel and Eddie Jones (all-stars) and lost...it wasn't until Kobe that he started winning....these were not Shaq's teams..they were ShaKobe's...plain and simple....

PJ re-designed the triangle to run through Shaq. This is a fact no one disputes (at least I won't). When the Lakers played formidable frontlines, Kobe's numbers rose above Shaq's. Examples? See Blazers, Spurs, and Queens series. In other series - like vs. the Nets, Shaq's numbers were Wiltesque.

Despite Shaq's dominance, had he not have Kobe dropping numbers like 48 on the Queens or 45 on your Spurs or his overall brilliant floor game against them Blazers, the Lakers don't 3peat. Without Kobe holding his hand in the 4th quarters of games (we all know why he had to), Shaq doesn't win. , if it weren't for Wade's unprecedented 97-112 freebies in '06, Shaq doesn't win.

They had a STACKED team in Orlando. They didn't win. Matter of fact, they were SWEPT by Dream and Kenny The Jet! Smith. Pathetic.

With Kobe: 3 rangs. Without Kobe: 1*
With Shaq: 3 rangs. Without Shaq: 2 (including a b2b)

Say what you want about MVPAU, but he is 0-16 in the playoffs without Kobe. If he were really the MVP, explain his 0-16 record without Kobe.

Funny how you farmers always bring Kobe into a thread that has nothing to do with him. Fact: LeHype lost Finals at a 60% clip. Neal with that and try to stay on topic next time.
