It's still pretty nuts that a lot of Duncan fans right now were too young to remember his first 'ship.

This one right here. I wish I could put 99 higher up but I wasn't watching the NBA at that time. I can understand why some choose it as their favorite.
Tbh I remember watching the '99 ship. I was in elementary but I understood the game better than anyone my age at the time lol.

That 2005 le was pretty ing sweet especially following .4.

I watched almost every game in 2005...lol I remember dying a little inside when we lost to Denver in Game one of the first round. Then the team came back and kicked ass

My favorite, and I think the best:
2014- no weakness, great offense, depth, and underrated defense. Had a very hard road to the finals and extracted revenge on the Heat. Also had the best regular season record and the winning streak.
2005- Duncan, Horry, Bowen, ginobili, and Parker were a great lineup. Faced a very tough Pistons team that was defending champ. This team had great chemistry.
1999- DRob and Duncan together with Sean and Mario, great defense. Maybe the best defensive team in Spurs history. That was the 1st year after Jordan retired and everyone was trying to win.
2003- this team dominated in the playoffs but it's questionable whether they faced much compe ion. But they beat the Kobe/Shaq lakers and Duncan was at his best. Bowen was really good that year too and the team had some great 3 pt shooters. This team maybe should rank higher, but wasn't really tested.
2007- this year the spurs just had a relatively easy path to the championship. They had Parker at his best and Bowen was still holding on, but Duncan wasn't 100%. A solid but unspectacular team.

Another thing I believe. At least the 2004 and 2006 team, and maybe others, were just as good as the championship teams. It just comes down to health, match-ups in the playoffs, officiating, and whether or not the shots fall.

99, always for the simple reason that before that le, I felt I would never see the Spurs win a le in my lifetime. This year's would rank 2nd because after 2003 I got spoiled like a lot of our Spurs fans, and thought we would win a le every other year and maybe a repeat somewhere in there, that never happened and until game 6 of the OKC series I just felt the run was over. When the Spurs beat the Thunder without Tony and at OKC, I started to feel it, and I thought it would be in 6 but 5 is alright also.

The 2014 Spurs are the closest thing to the 1977 Blazers. I wasnt born back then but the legend is that the Blazers laid down the biggest finals beatdown in game 3 and game 4 and continued to close out the series in 6 games after being down 0-2.

I think the 2014 Spurs put down an even bigger beatdown over the final 3 games. As bad as 2013 was, when they show Ray Allens shot there will always be a "but" right after because they will say "Ray Allen had the most clutch shot in Finals history, but the Spurs came back the following year and laid down the biggest beatdown in NBA Finals history.

I would love to see this turn into a 3 part series. The Spurs never really had a major rivalry, but this could quickly becomes the biggest finals rivalry since Celtics-Lakers.

Was still so young to in '99.

2014 is by far my favorite because of REDEMPTION.

    1.2014
2.2005-God mode Manu and Tim, game 7, all you can ask for
    3. 2003- Became a fan after they beat the 3-peat Lakers, carried on even if they got on in game 1 against the mavs
    4. 2007- The suns were the finals that year tbh

Man alot of posters too young to remember 1999 makes me feel really old.

But I cannot recall a better run than 2014 from start to finish.

    • Best record in the league
    • 19 game winning streak
    • comprised of the same core going on 3 seasons
    • knocked out 2 nemesis opponents in Dallas & Ok
    • Crushed the 2-time defending champs with the "greatest player in the world"
    • funnest form of basketball among the 5 les teams to watch
    • Even year drought broken

I just don't see how even if they repeat in 2015 that'll top this season.

Prior to this year I'll go with 2003 simply because knocking out LA in the 2nd round was the sweetest feeling I had heretofore.

On a somewhat related note, I would love to see the Spurs le teams play each other. Would be awesome basketball and I can't even pick a winner.

The 1999 team, for those that don't remember, was a defensive beast in the paint. Robinson was still an all-star, Duncan was dominant. Ninja and Ellie on the perimeter. Would be very tough for any subsequent team to stop their two-man game in the paint.

The 2003 team, Duncan was just so damn good. None of the other players were at or near their peaks, and I think it was the overall weakest team, but Duncan single-handedly dominated the Kobe/Shaq Lakers in their prime. As good as Tiago and Tim are now, no one in today's NBA could stop Tim of 2003.

The 2005 team was incredibly well-rounded. Parker was good. Ginobili dominant. Bowen a lock-down defender, even better than Kawhi or Green are today. And Duncan was still a superstar, even playing on bum knees/ankles.

I think the 2007 team was the weakest overall.

This team from 2014, the offense and defense are elite. Best team basketball the Spurs (or pretty much any team in the last two decades) has ever played. Deepest team by far, and would have heads spinning on any of the prior teams trying to keep up with their passes. And Green and Kawhi are the best perimeter defensive duo we've ever had, to match up with Parker and Manu from prior teams.

I'd pay good money to watch those teams in a round-robin tournament.

    1) 2005 - Still my favorite till this day, and that is definitely not a knock on this years chip as I have 2014 as pretty much a 1b. Ginobili was a superstar and the MVP throughout the playoffs. Oh, and how can you forget the actual finals? Epic! Robert Horry gave us a game for the ages! The line-up of Prime Tim, Prime Manu, younger Parker, Bruce Bowen, Robert Horry, Brent Barry, Nazr, and Rasho might be my favorite tied with 2014.

    2) 2014 - Tough road to the finals. Went through the two best superstars in the league en' route to 5.
Spanked the two time defending champions.

    3) 2003 - What else can be said about PRIME DUNCAN?

    4) 1999 - The first chip won after when, I must admit, I was coming off from being a Michael Jordan and Chicago Bulls fan as a kid throughout the early and mid nineties.

    5) 2007 - It was the Cavs, but we still rang.

    1. 1999 since all we knew was heartbreak after being so close to the Finals in 79, 83, 90, and 95, only to have Lucy pull the football away right as we were about to make the kick.

    2. 2014, avenging the worst loss in the history of the NBA with a team that NBA fans will be talking about 40 years from now the same way we talk about the 77 Blazers and 86 Celtics.

    3. 2003 for destroying Shaq and Kobe on their home court as those gots cried.

    4. 2005 because Manu went into God mode that playoffs.

    5. 2007 was so ing sweet because it felt like things were over at the time with Dallas becoming such a monster... until April

Same! 99 was ridiculous! I have never in the history of watching basketball see a team totally shut down the paint like David and Timmy did. If you couldn't hit your outside shots you were pretty much screwed.

2014 - Redemption, The Comeback, For ude - whatever you want to call it. This is a badass team and they totalled everyone after Dallas
2005 - The toughest of roads to the Finals. Gritty. Game 7 for all the marbles. Manu with hair. Horry's G5 shot - Biggest. Ever.
1999 - Yeah, the first one. Even though the Knicks didn't have Ewing. Memorial Day Miracle.
2003 - Dave only went out on top because of Tim. Beginning of the Big 3. LOL Nets
    2007 - Stat padding trophies!

No doubt this year championship is so special. Great team, great player, great redemption story. I have problem trading Mills or Green in 2k14, because I love all guys from that team.

2014. Crucified more than just 2013 and LeBron. No longer are the Spurs old, boring and unrecognized by the media. I never really cared about the media, but June 15th, 2014 was the greatest day in franchise history.

This is my list exactly. 2005 was amazing, but 2014 was so brilliant and unexpected that it's hard to compare it to anything else. It was just a perfect le. The only thing that would have made it better is if we had a huge buzzerbeater to win one of the games in the Finals. Duncan's performance in OT against OKC was pretty legendary though.

2014 - The only one I've been a full-fan of. Words can't explain how lucky and thrilled I feel to have been apart of this team, especially considering how small of a market SA was and how done they looked after 2011.

1999 - I've always felt that this one must have been the sweetest. To watch Avery, Sean, and David win one in the 90's, still in the Alamodome, it must have been something special. I could only imagine how hyped the city must have been.

2005 - Amazing finals series, emergence of Ginobili, and I actually remember watching Game 7 as a younglin. Granted I didn't have a real passion for the team at the time, but it was a fun experience nonetheless.

2003 - Duncan showing the world he's the best PF of all time. Also, Fisher's tears.
(I also appreciate those '01-'03 Nets, but that's just me.)

2007 - Uhm.. Spurs swept LeBron, and Sonic was giving out free root-beer floats. So that was cool.

    2014 - redemption
1999 - the first, and the start of an era - important because we didn't know there would be 4 more (and counting)
    2003 - D-Rob going out in style
    2005 - tough tough tough
2007 - hard to get excited about a playoffs run when the biggest play is Horry hip-checking Nash into the scorer table
This is my list. It hurts to rank 2003 third because taking down the Laker dynasty and making Kobe cry was so huge, but this year and 1999 were transformative.

No way, I love seeing them completely destroy the team that beat them last year. You get a buzzer-beater as one of the wins and people are talking about how the Spurs got lucky with the cramping in Game 1.

I don't think the 2007 team was necessarily as good as the others, but I do think they're slightly underrated because of the weak opposition they faced at the end. Ultimately, you can only beat the teams put in front of you, and they still swept aside the Cavs - who were a pretty good side themselves that year - with minimum fuss. If each series that year had been as intense as the WCSF versus the Suns, then '07 might get a little more recognition. Who's to say how highly this team might be regarded if they had faced tougher opposition?

I was a little later to the party than most posters (became a Spurs fan in 2003), but would rank 2005 as my favourite, because it was the first real le since I'd become a proper fan, and it was probably the most exciting cir stances; winning at home, in a game seven, decided in the final quarter. Then 2014, because I appreciate it a whole lot more, then 2007, and lastly 2003 (which I only really caught the tail-end of). I've watched as much of the 1999 Championship as I can, but it's hard to rate when you don't live and breathe it at the time.
