Lebron has never really been coached. I am sure his middle school coach just let him do whatever. And his high school coach did the same. His AAU coaches did the same as well. He hasn't been coached in the NBA either. He shouldered Brown coming off the floor once that I know of, who knows how many more. He did the same to Spolestra. Lebron still does what he wants. Whatever is said in the huddle is just a suggestion for him to follow or not follow. Remember "Follow my lead"? Not follow the game plan. Lebron doesn't want a coach. Wade has had enough. You can blame his knees, but it is more than that. Bosh is clinging because he has now been exposed as a decent player on really bad team in Toronto.

I think Pop would put a stop to that move because Lebron isn't a team guy. Lebron wants to play hero ball for a team that has a shot. I see him staying in Miami or going to Chicago. I just wonder if he will have a 30 minute reality show on ESPN to build up hype for his decision.

LeBron to the Spurs. Ain't gonna happen.

Suns have CAP to offer MAX, a glaring hole at SF, a core that won 48 games despite starting backcourt only netting 30+ games together, enough shooters and rotational bigs to keep the floor stretched for James, two 20-5-4 PGs, lots of draft picks to keep team restocked next 4/5 years, and, they have that big fat "0" in the les column.

Want to be treated like messiah, win a le in Phoenix. in' Luis Gonzales is in like 15 commercials a year for like 7-8 industries and he barely cleared the infield.

Don't get how Phoenix, with it's passing, shooting, depth and overall need of a superstar aren't mentioned. Pretty lazy writing. Way to tread the surface.

I don't know why they don't mention the Wizards. They have one of the best guard combinations in the entire league. Washington DC is not a small market either.

Whereas its highly unlikely for James to come to the Spurs, those who think the front office would ignore it if it were truly an option.. you are an idiot... Spurs are still a business, winning = money, winning championships = more money... business would be good.

There are tons of factors and what ifs to go into, but it's not really worth it.. because it's not likely even on the radar as an option, so waste of time.

I was one of them who mentioned that a friend of mine and fellow Spurs fan suggested it to me.
After thinking about it, it sounded pretty amazing.
Yes, admittedly the Spurs would quickly go from Amercas or rather the Worlds darlings to the evil empire overnight.
But James can afford to take less, a lot less now, to cement his legacy in the future if he did this.
He likes Pop, having coached him in the past, no one coaches players minutes better and with the way the Spurs play now, it would be a perfect fit for both.
There would be reason to feel that it would extend the careers of TD, Manu, and TP as well, and numerous championships to expect in a row.
Plus James is a family man now and no better city is suited for this type of player as can be testified by most all former players.
But having said all this IMHO it is highly unlikely.

LeBron would never come to a small market no matter what the situation. Even when he was in Cleveland which is a relative medium market he was looking for greener pastures. At this point in his career, I don't see him leaving to a situation better than Miami. The only market lucrative enough for him to leave would be New York or LA and the Knicks are a mess right now especially with Carmelo ready to bolt and the Clippers and Lakers both have owner/management issues. Chicago and Houston will try their best to tempt him but he knows going to Houston means having to compete for shots with James Harden and that won't happen. Chicago has potential especially with a healthy Rose in the mix but it looks like they are courting Melo right now and I can't see James sharing the limelight with him. Wade and Bosh worked for Jame because as he has begun to peak, Bosh and Wade were in their primes, but that is not the case anymore. My money is on him staying in Miami and Riley sheds some ineffective pieces to bring in younger role players to make another le run. James doesn't want to play in the West because he knows he would be up against a higher level of compe ion every night so the easier path is to stick in the East where you only have to worry about Chicago and Indiana next year.

You talk as if LBJ is another me first player like Carmelo Anthony. I would understand your point then. But LBJ is about as unnselfish of a player you can ask for even when the rest of his team are scrubs, It would never happen in a million years, but if LB were truly interested I think the FO would be foolish not to listen. You are talking about the possibly the best player/athletic in the world here.

I think the talk about San Antonio not being a big enough market for James is off the mark. He's an established star already. What difference does it make where he plays? Being a winner trumps whatever market you are playing in. Are his endorsement deals just supposed to go away because he plays for a perennial contender? C'mon now. He doesn't even need his NBA $$.

He claims he doesn't need the money anymore, that money is not the issue.
You would think his advisors would steer him toward San Antonio.

He will not go to SA but if for some crazy reason he decided he wanted to be a Spur then you take him without a second thought.

He wouldn't come here even for a max deal. First of all, we beat his in ass in the Final twice. He will despise the Spurs until the day he dies.

Secondly, as much as he wants to win, it's clear he does not want to do so if he loses his control perks, or loses stats due to system. His ego means more than winning. His ego has gone unchecked ever since he was a teen. Dude wouldn't even travel to meet with teams in free agency; he made them visit him in Ohio to kiss his ass and convince him why he should go play for them.

Lastly, he is an attention . He will lose attention in SA. I think he'd rather be a 2 ring player with huge stats than a 4-5 ring player with lesser stats in the 2nd half of his career.

While it's an interesting hypothetical, if the Spurs signed Lebron, they'd be forced to let Mills walk, so it's a clear non starter from where I'm sitting.

Not sure what's more ridiculous, the idea of LeBron coming to SA or Spurfan debating if he'd be a good fit or not
