I wish Portugal-Ghana game was before U.S.-Germany so we would know what the U.S. needs but they are at the same time. oh well.

But seriously Germany and the US both advance with a draw and our coach is German. We all know what's going to happen
and Germany wins the group if the result is a draw...i just don't see any situations in where either team will try hard and go for the win. Klisman will call up his buddies and strike the deal

Unless Klinsmann's former assistant coach (Loew) wants to shut that up. Always running his mouth and his Hollywood lifestyle

If the USA lose, their goal difference goes down. So if Germany beat the USA 3-0, Ghana would only have to win 1-0. I think.
Yep. If Ghana and Germany both win by 1 though, the USA/Ghana tiebreaker would be total goals scored and USA is +1 vs. Ghana in that category right now.

Yeah if US loses 2-0 their goal differential is -1. So obviously Ghana winning by any score and USA is out. Portugal is a long shot.

I think the usa and germany should do business behind behind the scenes and settle for a tie. I mean a tie gets them both in.

The US is advancing, even with a loss. Portugal will either tie or beat the africans, hence pushing the US through.

Portugal has no chance of advancing, even with a win. Their goal differential eliminates them

Bradley screwed at the end but still best American player tonite

ronaldo is clearly injured and playing one leg tbh

a tie is enough I don't think Germany will push like crazy but don't expect they will just bend over and wait. They still need to secure first place and won't play with fire. Now 0-0 till 15 min to the end and game is over

Before we get all paranoid of the United States' chances, let's not forget that Germany also risks crashing out of the group stage if Murica somehow finds a way to beat them. There's no incentive for both to try and kill each other when a draw settles their group.

If there's no conspiracy behind the scenes, that's the exact reason Germany will go all out tbh. They can crash out with a loss.

I think at least Loew and Klinsmann are talking behind the scenes if not Obama and Merkel.

"We both advance with a draw, so let's play a good game and keep to our strategy"

Both will surely go all-out to make the fans' money worth it but they're still drawing. The US advancing is good for the sport and for the World Cup, compared to Ghana and Portugal. The potential US audience that it will draw is a big motivation.
