Personally, I want McDaniels. Give him a jumper and pair him up with Kawhi, the defensive potential is unreal.
But I think I'd be cool with any prospect the Spurs draft. I fully expect them to go euro.
Lots of good big men who should be hitting their peak as Duncan retires
I'd say SF, but Kawhi is our future so I think we've covered there. We need a slasher SG who can shoot, also known as a new Manu. Once Manu is gone we'll need a dynamic offensive player on the wing. Danny is great but he is absolutely not that.
Danny is one of the best defenders in the NBA, he will never be an explosive offensive type player but I will always choose defense over offense.
Yup...taking away 2 points from your opponent is basically the same as scoring 2 points for your own team.
Defensively-Minded Power Forward/Center
Gotta lock down the rim and force outside shooters to make shots, you'll need REBOUNDS and blocked shots.
Also Kawhi will always need someone who set picks for him which is often the man at the 4-5 spot.

You also don't want a SG that feels like they have to compete with Kawhi for ball minutes on offense.
Kawhi needs the rock!!
I'd rather Green to continue to be that 3-pt threat on the wing that Kawhi kicks it to.
Dario Saric. Spurs should trade up and draft him now that it looks like he will fall in the draft due to him signing a new contract w a Turkish club. Reminds me of the Splitter situation. He can't come over until two more years and can replace Manu when he retires. Give up this years first and both 2nd to move up to the early 20s.
The seconds aren't going to move them anywhere. Those aren't worth much at all. They'd have to offer other first rounders or something else of value. Some teams have multiple picks in the first this year and I'd expect one of them to nab him.
I think we need to draft another defensive minded SG to complement Kawhi at the 3. If you have two lockdown defenders at the 2 and 3 it would create havoc in the backcourt for opposing teams plus it would allow player to switch easily off of pick and rolls. I don't know how many solid defensive two guards will be available when we draft but more than likely the Spurs are not going to find anyone in the draft that can immediately help. I think the higher likelihood is we give a training camp invitee a chance to make the roster and then stash them on the Toros.
Not true. One team last year gave up two 2nd to move up 7 spots in the 1st. But I believe the Spurs would have to move to 17 pick for a shot at him, which would require throwing in a future 1st rounder. Teams might be leery in drafting him as he seems to be picky as who he wants to play for.
Remember Splitter was projected to be lottery pick and fell once he signed another contract in Spain. And with Saric not coming over for two years, he has all the negotiating proceedings in his advantage, which will further deter teams from drafting him.
Take the NFL approach of best player available regardless of position. If it's a draft and stash guy, so be it. They have the luxury of having no real holes (given the MLE will be available). Begin preparing for post-Duncan/Ginobili.
In this order--> PF..SF..PG
i think it goes hand in hand with Diaw... if the FO is planning on ponying up and keeping the band together, then they can address other needs. if not, with Duncan's retirement looming, going for a big man seems logical.
PHX most likely. He's a system fit and they have 3 picks in the first so they'll almost certainly draft and stash.
Best available. We need to start thinking about a team w/out the big three.
But he can not create for others or dribble the ball more then two bounces...........Our offense won us the Championship......But I do like rebounding, shot blocking players..
Draft and stash. Even in a deep draft I doubt they can get anyone ready to contribute right away, which is where I want the focus tbh. I guess they could try to move up but given the way the reigning finals MVP was acquired I don't expect anyone is going to be returning RC's calls on draft night.
"210 area code on the caller ID? that ."
Best available is kind of a cop out poll response here
Someone who can create off the dribble. Tony and Manu are the primary creators and they're not getting any younger.
