i wonder how many times Sean will say those words next season lol
It's going to be so sweet next season when the Spurs are referred to as "the defending champions."

Been watching these all weekend, so awesome to relive each unique championship again. Just watched game 4 in '07 against Cleveland...damn, that team was horrible.Donyell Marshall
And I had competely forgotten about that screaming banshee guy that would yell every time the Spurs were on offense. You can see that dude on the baseline throughout the 4th quarter

Do you recall we were counting Lebron's dunks? He had one.
In this year's contest, he had one (I think, maybe two if you consider a small under the rim flush), and no alley oops. Meanwhile Leonard had a few dunks and an alley oop.
I've seen all 5 championships and this will be my favorite of all time. Last year now seems like a lifetime ago. This is my favorite team of all time. I can actually look forward to a possible repeat!!! Go spurs go!!!!! Let's do it this time.

As a Spurs fan back to the Gervin years, this le is especially meaningful, because I didn't think a team with a number of key guys in their 30s could realistically get through the four series and 16 wins anymore (that goes for last year too). They have played at such a high level the last 3 years.
The Spurs have been the best team in basketball the last two years given the fact that they (unlike the Heat) did the things necessary to be in position to win two championships and not just one. We all know they pissed away the le last year in a weird, flukey way - they went out and did something about it this year. This was my favorite Spurs team ever because of the depth, superior offensive firepower, and very good team defense. This incarnation of the Spurs is not just about Duncan, Parker, and Manu. The younger guys played great as well and really caused problems for Miami and the rest of the teams they defeated. Leonard, Green, Splitter, Mills all had great moments throughout the playoffs - be it on offense, defense or both. Boris Diaw was special in his unique way. Matt Bonner, Baynes, and Joseph also had specific, key positive moments as well.
It was a fantastic year, I will cherish it. Who knows what the future will bring, but this most recent le is a tribute to all the Spurs Organization. They did things the right way. They are the NBA Champs! How sweet it is!!!!!

It really is neat to look for the Sports Illustrated issues, hats, T-shirts etc. I plan on snagging as much cool championship stuff as I can...... It's great.
I could not have imagined the Spurs winning so many times - Duncan made everything possible here.
Was at the 5th game. What an amazing experience after all these years of ups & downs since the '07 Finals. This Championship was so perfect, you can't write this . How perfect to come back from last years collapse and smoke the Heat. That 3 of Kawhi's in transition to give the Spurs the first lead in the game, man...the crowd took it to a whole other level. Awesome!
Kawhi just scored again.![]()
Look how beautiful that looks. That 5th sucker was always spinning now Larry stand proud with the other 4.

Has anyone put "5 Rings Byotch" out there yet?
Congratulations Spurs!!!
Abg Kawhi![]()
5 rings mofos! Ahhh feels goood
Its not just the ring, but ringing with this particular team (family, built, good character guys, playing the right way) feels so great.
Congrats Spurs and congrats to ourself! Couln't be happier having picked the Spurs as my fav team 20 years ago when every other German was rooting for Seattle, Houston, Phoenix or Chicago.
Where is Damion James in all of these? I have not seen any picture of him at all in the celebrations pictures? Does he also get a ring at all?
edit: nevermind found it http://www.spurstalk.com/forums/show...ghlight=damion

FIVE RINGS, GOT!![]()
Yes, he was marginalized, for one reason or another. Never saw him in street clothes alongside Austin Daye.
From his wikipedia page, FWIW,
"On June 15, 2014, James won his first NBA championship after the Spurs defeated the Miami Heat 4 games to 1 in the 2014 NBA Finals."
Maybe he had personal issues, family, illness, who knows.
