    What else is he gonna do, go back to the islands? Sit with those assholes on TnT? Renew his membership with NAMBLA?

    We've talked about this several times. By the CBA, guaranteed means guaranteed no matter what. However, by law, a player can be sued if they claim salary without rendering the service (after they are retired, for example). This usually means the player and team agree to a buyout before the player officially retires. Note that it's an actual buyout and not just the player agreeing to forfeit his salary. Rarely does a retiring player give up all of his money.
