He'll be a top 5 player next season and if he can stay healthy he will surpass Durant eventually mostly due to his defense.

The most impressive thing about him is his explosion on standing verts. He can jump fast enough to block someone shot. I've never seen a player that explosive in a long time

Yeah, #1 asset in the NBA over James and Servant? I love Davis' game and always thought he'd be way better as a pro than in college, but he's not there yet to be compared with Durbeta and LeBron.
LeBron is in his prime, and in 2-3 years will be leaving it.

Durant is definitely in his prime, but has some pretty sizable holes in his game.

Both are undoubtedly better players than AD right now, but he's 21 and already the best big in the game. 21 year old incredibly skilled two way big men without a long line of injuries in their career are so rare. Look at Embiid already. Davis could realistically be the cornerstone of a franchise until 2030. Durant may NEVER get to the point where he's capable of leading a team. He needs to bulk up, get a post game, and become a consistently better defender. The Spurs torched him this post-season and he got massively exposed by defensive guards with length on offense, and without having Ibaka to cover his mistakes on D.

Dude's a boss no doubt but you could make the same exact video with someone like DeAndre Jordan tbh...

I think his talent could've been showcased more than that imo

never said he was. Just saying that video was kinda meh, I mean it was mostly just blocks and some alley oops. Like I said, a DJ mix would look the same pretty much. They could've showcased his talent imo he's got more game than just crazy blocks and alley oops

I like Davis, but he's getting hyped up to such a level where there's going to be backlash if he doesn't immediately meet people's ridiculous expectations.... same happened to Blake after his rookie season....

Right now his biggest obstacle is having teammates like Eric Gordon and Tyreke Evans, tbh... just a shame seeing him waste his time...

Like him a whole lot would offer Wiggins plus a choice of anyone else on the roster for him tbh if I were Cavs ...
But like someone else said he seems a injury risk hopefully the added muscle changes that ... but when I watch him play he falls "weird" it always makes me nervous ...but maybe he is growing in to his NBA body. Will watch him close next year.

Evans played well the last 20 or so games of last season. The biggest obstacle for Davis is Gordon & Monty Williams.

Tyreke is talented but a cancer... me-first player and if he doesn't get the spotlight he mails it in... AD needs better than that.

New Orleans Pelicans' Anthony Davis' Team USA's "main guy" says coach Mike Krzyzewski

Las Vegas – While New Orleans Pelicans coach Monty Williams doesn't have to play Anthony Davis in the post this season, now that the team has acquired center Omer Asik, that doesn't mean Davis won't get his fill of the five spot for Team USA.

Davis has been working against Sacramento Kings center DeMarcus Cousins on the floor of the Mendenhall Center here this week as the U.S. team attempts to identify its interior personality after multiple defections depleted its inside presence.

"I don't know what they're trying to do; I'm just trying to play," Davis said, "trying to help make everyone else better, whether it's having to defend me, or making a run, whatever the case may be.

"DeMarcus is a great player, along with the other bigs who are here. I'm just trying to battle, make sure we compete against each other and try to make each other better."
Davis is one of three players in training camp here this week who were members of the gold-medal wining 2012 Olympic Team joining Oklahoma City's Kevin Durant and Houston's James Harden.

Because of Davis' ascending talent, and his international experience, there's little doubt that he'll be part of the final 12-man roster that will defend the Americans' current World Cup le next month in Madrid.
Team USA coach Mike Krzyzewski doesn't attempt to camouflage his intentions for Davis this summer.
"We're going to have to have active bigs," Krzyzewski said. "Our main guy is Anthony Davis."
Cousins and Detroit's Andre Drummond are the only true centers on the Team USA roster at this point.
His combustible personality makes Cousins unattractive at times, but there's no denying his ability to control the paint.
"We have to see who else fits in," Krzyzewski said, "but also how they fit in with the other guys. (Cousins) has continued to get into better shape. We love the fact that he's committed. He's trying like crazy. He's come into (training camps) multiple times. That level of commitment is just not to be admired. It needs to be talked about."

Over the course of last season and this season, Anthony Davis has five games with at least 25 points, 10 rebounds and five blocks. The rest of the league, in that span, has combined for six such games.

at you comparing him to Bonnie's rookie year. Everyone knows CP0 made him to begin with, but AD >>>> BonniePERIOD. Put Bonnie in Nawlin's without CP0 and he ain't shiiiiiiiiiiit. Meanwhile, put AD with the Clipps and you guys are finally in the WCF.

    • USA TODAY SportsAge will play a role in the transition of power from LeBron James to Anthony Davis.

Tonight, Anthony Davis and LeBron James will meet in Cleveland, when Davis' New Orleans Pelicans face James' Cleveland Cavaliers. That might not be the last time their paths intersect in the near future, and not only in terms of the return matchup Dec. 12 in the Big Easy.

As both players age, it's seemingly inevitable that Davis will catch James

To read more of how Kevin Pelton says Anthony Davis will soon usurp LeBron James' mantle as the NBA's best player, become an Insider today.
