Yeah that's crazy, no team should ever put two big men who are fantastic defenders on the same team.
Not if they're going to get in each other's ways down low on offense.

Davis is actually pretty overrated as a man defender, so acquiring Asik does make sense, strictly from a personnel standpoint..

He can make the jump shot pretty far out, so it shouldn't be a huge deal from an offensive standpoint..his game is based more on facing up, too, rather than posting up..

I still hate New Orleans's perimeter players, but they should have enough to make a solid run at the playoffs, if they can miraculously stay healthy..Montyball will be a problem, though, obviously..

This just gives them depth, which is good...

Asik can be played next to Davis when matching up against two paint bigs, or he can backup Davis with Ryan Anderson playing stretch 4 when playing against teams with a more modern NBA offense...

He's a moron is what he is.
Morey would not do this deal unless someone commited to come to Houston.

Why would they not be able to do a S&T now? Also, how can NO absorb ASIK without sending anything back? I am showing that they have 58M in salaries committed to next year and ASIK makes 8M
They can do it if Morrow opts out and the Pels waive their non-guarantees. Just barely, but they could. But unless they have a huge TE I don't know about, they can't trade for him during the draft.

Hmmm. That's what I thought. The weird thing is it says it's being finalized and I thought that implied being sent in. I don't know how they can do that unless it just hasn't been reported yet that Morrow opted out and they wavied those guys (which is possible).

Perhaps, but it still is a big gamble imo. It may also be to show NY that we have the cap space to sign Melo outright, so they do an S&T (which wouldn't make us that much better tbh)

I'm feeling like it's going to be Chicago or Houston for Melo.. but which one? Staying in the East would be wiser on his part imo.

Some restructuring needs to take place as well. The SW division is too damn compe ive at this point.

    SA
    HOU
    MEM
    DAL
    NO

Every single one of those teams will make the playoffs.
Everyone can but one will likely be sitting it out.

I think if Lin gets moved tonight or at all someone has definitely committed.

Edit: Dammit, Meant tomorrow. Only on 3 hours sleep right now.

Probably due to injury, which says a lot.

This pick could also be used in a Kevin Love deal.

The sites I am looking at say 56, so adding the 8 puts them just under the cap.

Yeah he would, they've been trying to trade Asik ever since they got Dwert.

He did not have to, he could have waited until the trade deadline but he did it days before free agency even started to clear cap room.
