Pipe dream. And with Kobe's insane contract both Lebron and Melo would have to take pay cuts and they'd have no money for any other role players anyways. Lebron stays in Miami, Melo goes to Chicago or Houston.
You would certain see jerseys popping up in places near you and have some say I was always a fan. I would bet on that.
Never going to happen. Lebron has a big ego and no way in would he want to hear the constant comparisons to Kobe. Not to mention signing with the Lakers guarantees he'll forever be chasing Kobe in rings. Lebron is staying with Miami.
Carmelo has stated he wants to play for a contender. The Lakers have no coach. No bench. And only 3 players under contract. They're a train wreck right now and 2 or 3 years away from just being a playoff team, much less a contender. Melo is likely headed to the Bulls.
I don't see the Lakers making any big off-season moves. They just don't have the assets and aren't the draw for free agents they were 5 years ago.
