I'd say Colombia is the American version
Rooting for them Red Devils. Their inexperience at the big stage would be their undoing. But I'd love for them to advance over all these ref reliant teams like Bra, Arg, Holl. or these perenial winners like Germany

Colombia is doing well mainly because they are playing as locals. Also they have arguably the best defense in the world. But yes, their youth will do them in eventually too

Anything can happen on a knock out stage football match. You can get up on a ty day and play badly, you can play great and have bad luck, you can get screwed by the refs, etc, etc, etc.

To me that's only when two forces are somewhat equal. Argentina-Germany in 2006 for example, to me Argentina was 10 minutes away from winning the WC that year (lucky goal by Germany, wrong coach decision not playing Messi, penalties, etc). So even not playing well Argentina will beat Switzerland... I mean, we are talking about Switzerland!!! Did they show anything that we should fear? The same with Belgium, nothing impressive, neither offensively nor defensively. Only Nigeria beating France or Algeria beating Germany would be bigger upsets than the Swiss beating Argentina, and that says a lot. It won't be easy though, we will suffer a lot in both games till the last minute.
Switzerland got cucked by France, there's really no excuse. I expect HGH Messi to tear that neutral ass up.
Argentina beating a measly Iranian team by 1 and getting their defense pummeled by 1 single Nigerian is nothing to write home about either. Bosnia also gave them problems.
