Yeah, the former especially if Bonner hangs it up.
It's going to be kind of rough because there is absolutely no guarantee of any playing time, so I'm not going to expect upper tier FAs to sign up.
Marion sounds ideal, but I'm sensing he stays in dallas

I agree. The only reason they would use it is if Bertans or one of the other 2nd round picks were coming over next season. But it appears that won't be the case this year.
You aren't getting Frye for the minimum - he opted out to increase his pay, not decrease it!
He's not asking about Frye at the minimum, he means either Bonner at the minimum or Frye at what his current value is.
Would Frye take the MLE?
I agree. Bonner for the min is actually not a bad deal and his floor spacing, especially against OKC and Miami, when Diaw was forced to start came in handy. The Spurs didn't want to go small and pairing him with Splitter off the bench kept them from having to.
Probably more than that. I think he walked away almost 7 million. He just turned 31 and could be in line for a 3 year $18-20 million deal given he is one of the better Stretch 4s in the NBA. GSW is reportedly interested (at least Iggy is) in him. If they don't deal for Love or they do (either way they'd have to use the MLE). I think that they could maybe nab him with the MLE given the the market.
If Mills goes does anybody think he could be a backup PG?
I agree. Roster spots will run out before money does.
Bonner $$$ might be going to Diaw and Mills, however there's still a roster spot to be filled.
Anderson has one and cheap
I don't think Ayres or Joseph are going via trade since Pop highly values familiarity with the system. I'm worried for replacements in case Diaw, Mills, and Baynes all walk. It's easy to say we can replace Diaw with another passing big like McBob, or Mills with Joseph (not a scoring PG), or Baynes with another banger but it seems too simplistic a solution. PATFO almost always makes moves none of us here wanted/predicted. Just curious as to other people's list of players to replace these valuable pieces in case they leave.
As for Bonner, however, I favor Bertans or Thomas as a replacement. Free agent Mike Scott proved he can be a stretch four but he seems to demand a higher price.
Well said.
Austin to me is the guy to be replaced by Bertrans if he can come over.
Many guys improve big time 2nd yr at Spurs, for that reason I think Belinelli stays. Spurs way of business.
