Bleacher Report reported Saturday that Haslem did not exercise his $4.62 million player option and now is free to sign with any team -- including re-signing a team-friendly deal with the Heat to create extra space under the salary cap -- starting Tuesday.
LeBron James has already opted out of his deal with the Heat, and teammatesChris Bosh and Dwyane Wade -- who have the same representation as Haslem -- have until midnight on Monday to make the same decision.

Haslem opting out is pretty ing good for them. He's a minimum player now. Still only leaves them with $15.9 million in capspace and a need to sign LeBron unless Bosh and Wade opt out.
He'll resign with the Heat for less. Same with Wade and Bosh.
You sure about Wade? He'd be nuts to opt out of 2 years, $41 million when he's only worth maybe $12 million a year now.

i don't understand this at all. i can understand lebron, wade, and bosh opting out and signing for less because they've already made ridiculous amounts of money plus endorsements..but for a guy like haslem to walk away from 4.62 million is ing dumb and with that kind of financial ap ude he'll probably be broke in 10 years. if i'm the heat i don't even bring him back, dude barely played any minutes last year and looked ty.

Even if Miami is a sinking ship I don't see why Haslem should opt out, he ain't gonna get paid anything more than vet min for the rest of his career. 4.62m is BIG money for him imho.
