And Splitter is a pretty ing awesome big defensively. Probably the MVP of the Dallas series. The grass is always greener on the other side SMH.
I'm starting to wonder if it's going to take $40 million to bring Boris back and $25 million for Patty. I mean you gotta do it because Boris was at times ( , critical times) the engine of the team, and 2013-14 Mills is the first really good backup point the Spurs have had since Speedy (not counting TJ Ford, since he had to retire).

I almost would rather pay Livingston the mle then mills though
mills can hit threes
lvingston can not but Livingston does everyone thing else better
Splitter was definitely the MVP of the Dallas series and shut down Aldridge who was a Spurs killer his whole career.
Smh at people who give him because he isn't a 20/10 guy.
spurscompetion of diaw would be suns or with the heat if they do not get anyone else
I don't see mavericks as scrubs.. It's probably best coached team in the Western Conference sans Spurs
Even if you didn't originally like Splitter's contract you should never mention that again given we just won a championship with his help. In fairness to those that didn't it comes from a recognition that the Spurs have to get great value for every dollar that is spent.
what are you talking about
he's only good against scrubs and in the regular season
Can you count the travels?
McGee and Saunders along with Hibbert are over payed. Splitter is on a bargain. I
technically could have both but that would probably be redundant.
Definitely a travel (or two). However, not as bad as the former San Antonio training camp-invitee, Corey Maggette!
I could have misread but $40 million for Diaw and $25 million for Mills? I'd doubt their new contracts combine to exceed $32 million.
I've could see Diaw getting 3 years 18-20 and Mills 3 year 12-14 million
You think Diaw and Mills will make less than Jodie Meeks?
if they want to play for the Spurs then yes.
Who are there "bigs?"
They may not have bigs but they are well coached.. That's a reason why they can take Spurs to 7 games.
And tbh, Mark Cuban does know about Team Basketball, unlike oklahoma thunder..
my point was, he should be going off in games like that. Hes making 10 mil a year and getting defended by dalembert and Dirk. 20 and 10 a game... thats 10 mil, to me
Bigs getting 20 and 10 do not go for just 10 million.
paying a guy 10 million a year should go out and get 20/10 if hes playing against heads like dirk and samuel and crowd favorite, defensive extraordinaire, DJB. 10 million a year guys shouldnt give you the same as an 800k guy,
Name a 10M/year big that gives the same as another big making 800k/year (or close). This should be good![]()
I'm not sure who is better between Gortat and Splitter. Gortat has better numbers, but plays more minutes. But then again, Gortat doesn't play in an offense that gets him as many easy points as Tiago does.
Not sure why the Wizards gave him so many years though.
How many current Spurs bigs players do that? Duncan occasionally, but not consistently..
The point is the way the Spurs play, it's hard to get 20 and 10 in a game. But that doesn't mean Splitter is not important, he is as important a piece in the rotation as Duncan or Manu or Parker. The movement/spacing without the ball in your hand, the pass, and the screens he set.. that all contributes to Splitter being important in Spurs' grand scheme of things.
The only thing I have qualms about is Diaw should be getting as much as Splitter..
they will make less tan Jodie Meeks. Diaw could top $20 million but I don't see it. Those numbers seem like fair value.
You do realize there are exactly FIVE 20-10 guys in the NBA for all of last season? What do you think the average salary of those 5 are?
