Bull . No one likes the Atlanta area.
If you're not joking, don't know, but I've read the past couple days that nba players LOVE Atlanta. Had zero idea.

Weren't the Spurs trying to get JJ Red a year ago before the trade deadline? Imagine the shooting percentages him or Korver would have put up in the Spurs system.

Why do these dudes listen to their wives? Does his wife make millions? Kind of is that. Korver makes bank, his wife should follow wherever he wants to go. Same with J Kidd. Since when does a a city make a family anyways? Home is where your family is. Dumb broad.

Let's face it, the idea of coming to San Antonio sickens many players and they resort to all kinds of bull reasons to ultimately pass them over. Oh well, those players tend to not have any rings while we rack them up.

Sounds like she could potentially be cheating on him with an African American , either that or she's never seen a Spurs game in her life... beautiful basketball.

His wife did the Spurs a favor.

Despite his poor postseason, Marco gave the Spurs some solid minutes off the bench in the regular season.

I don't think Korver would have done much better than that.

Thank God that Jason listened to Joumana...
The Spurs would have been different but they probably still would have won many many rings. Its not like JKidd was a scrub.

It's interesting to think about now, but the Spurs may have had a ball movement offense a lot sooner had Kidd signed.

Then again, I liked Parker OK as the PG and wanted Jermaine O'neal instead. I always go for a very good big man first over a guard.

You're likely a virgin (unless you paid for it) if you equate being a good husband to magically being a "beta cuck got".

This may be old news but yesterday was first I had heard this story. I was driving home from work, listening to local sports station, The Sports Animal. Dean Blevins of News9 in OKC does a small segment each afternoon along with regular host. He does have some connections to Buford family but if I heard correctly in this case referred to a family member of Korver's agent as his source. He said Korver had reached deal with Spurs (the way he told it was binding agreement) and his agent had flew out of San Antonio. As Kyle was preparing to travel back to Atlanta, he had long conversation with his wife. She loved the Atlanta area very much and felt it was the first place they really felt at home from a family standpoint in Korver's career. After ending conversation with his wife he called his agent and and told him for family reasons he felt he shouldn't come to SA but work to stay in ATL. Dean says agent told him he needed to make call to RC. Korver then called RC, who was extremely understanding, gracious, and classy - telling Kyle to do what was best for family and would not hold him to agreement.

This came up as they began to talk of the Spurs front office/player personnel success, and told the story to illustrate how classy the organization was. I am not sure I buy that there was a binding agreement, but I could see a situation where an agreement had been reached verbally. Anyway this is the first I had heard of this and thought I would share. So maybe the Spurs thought they had Korver, then with Neal looking for better payday settled on Ayres/Beli as plan B
translation: We can't leave my Sancho lives here in Atlanta! I bet there is a bit of resentment after the
    Spurs won the championship.

And if they have kids, there are more issues. It's hard for the kids have to leave their colleagues and friends and start again, in a new school, in a whole new environment.
Yeah, exactly. As much as I would've loved to have Korver, I understand that he chose family first. All guys who have families should unless there's some major reason to pressure a move.

Its the NBA, she knew what she was getting into. for the most part a NBA career is relatively short especially when you contrast it with a lifetime(the expectation of a marriage).

A marriage is an equal partnership which requires communication and compromise to succeed. You do not own the woman you are with. Just because history is a litany of patriarchal dominance and misogyny does not mean it's right or makes sense. Neanderthal at udes like this are a blight on men everywhere.

    Let the flaming begin.

True. I still imagine that marrying a NBA player makes it clear that there are going to be a few sacrifices to make in the short term, at least if said player is interested in the least in his sports career (= reaching some sports related achievements, something he won't be doing in Atlanta any time soon). Now if he's just interested in money and making his wife happy, then he certainly made the right decision.

Don't agree. We do not own the woman we are with but god made man the leader and society with the help of many useless men have made a case for it being equal. Real men disagree with this notion

Not knocking his basketball abilities at all. We just dodged a locker room snake, that's all.
