Great deal IMO. Let's not act like the dude isn't a borderline chucker. Sure, he played great when it mattered, but with his style of play that won't always be the case. Still a great person and teammate to boost team morale.

Depending on the third year, I'd say the Spurs took very good care of Patty. While it seems to be a reasonable contract, a guy who is pretty highly regarded (Shaun Livingston) got 3 years/16M which I feel is pretty close to Patty's value. I think high end was a 4 year/20M deal and low end was 3 year/9M (even before the injury) deal and Patty still ended up in the middle essentially. Especially if it's fully guaranteed or a player option.

Good on the Spurs, overall a fair contract and not a massive discount IMO.

Mugen is pissed patty got a fair deal
3yr/12mil is fine with me and is terrific deal for the Spurs. But Ben F'n Gordon and Jodie Meeks making more than Patty ain't right tbh.

Mills still plays within the system and only takes the shots he knows he can make. Unlike Neal, who seemed to shoot anything he wanted.

With that said - chuckers who make their shots tend to get big contracts. So this is still a of a bargain.

its a terrific deal, imo. we have him thru his age 28 season at an affordable rate. people need to realize we are assembling a complete team, meaning we will have a bunch of players making mid-tier salary instead of having 3 guys at 15mil+ with some vet min fodder on the side

My already immense respect for Patty just went up -- he gave the team a hometown discount.

    Fair dinkum mate.

Glad to hear Patty is back for awhile.....

The Spurs are almost done with bringing back all the key guys (I assume Diaw will be coming back too now). An NBA le team is hard to leave - I do think the team has great chemistry. I'll have to get back to the AT&T Center next year and admire the lovely new NBA le flag hanging from the rafters.

Patty's salary just tripled and he lives in a no state income tax state. The injury is unfortunate, but he's become a very dedicated player over the last year.

The 15th man on a current NBA team makes more than Iceman did most of his career.

The Spurs good depth and Pop's ability to work a roster will help out in the early part of the season.

I appreciate that the Spurs FO is recognizing what a fine job Patty did last year and wants to take care of his financial situation. $12M over 3 years is serious money.

Report is that Mills is super bummed about the injury and the expected time for rehab...so I hope that this makes him feel better.

I'm glad for him and glad for the Spurs. And terrifically glad for all of us.

A second ring will go a long way to making him feel better, tbh. It'll work out for all of us in the end!

I'd rathet have a two-year with a PO or a four-year. Three just doesn't make sense as for money, $4 Million in 2015 is my limit. Hope it's a good deal smaller, though.
It does if 2017 is the new 2015.

This is a really good price for such a player with continued upside once he gets past the shoulder thing. I wonder how far things got with other teams if at all. This price is fair to other Spurs players as well. Gra ude and respect to Patty and RC/Pop for getting this done.
