Also refs will respects us more now
All that confidence just juicing up our team now, we will beat them everytime in regular season and on their homecourt, 100%
Also refs will respects us more now
If we aren't missing any players when we play them I don't see why we wouldn't beat them.
Why did this need another pointless thread? We beat them in the playoffs this past season. Yes, we are better.
Who cares now? Bask in the Championship and let the Thunder go back and pout about 2012.
We've been a better team than OKC since the minute Harden walked out the door.
What if they get Gasol?
Doesn't matter.
We already beat them when we needed to.
It was basically Westbrook, Random dude from off the streets, Durant, Injured Ibaka, and Random dude from off the streets, and a bench of Reggie Jackson and Random dudes from off the streets, against SAS...
And they still won 2 games.
We were better last year because Ibaka was playing hurt and they had a horse supporting cast. I wouldn't assume next year will be the same.
^^^^^^ THIS TBH.
How about we wait until at least training camp to make judgments like this?
And how about you put down the crack pipe?![]()
OKC is the biggest obstacle to repeating. i wouldn't look down your nose at that team for any reason.
Good point. No time to enjoy this Championship. Too much cliff jumping to attend to...
Meh they are still the biggest team obstacle to a repeat. Foodstamp powers tbh.
We're better than OKC. But they matchup well with us. And if they add Pau Gasol, how can we beat them with an injured Manu and Patty?
OKC has your basic big 3 problem similar to the Heat, $50 million committed to 3 players for the foreseeable future leaves them with no depth and as a nonplayer for any new free agents above the MLE level. There was no way they could retain Harden. Houston also appears headed for cap trouble with their foolish chasing of Anthony when they have huge $ committed to Harden/Howard.
This approach is quickly becoming the model of how not to build a team.
Who cares about the regular season? Manu will be back before CAMP, and Patty will be back for the stretch run and the playoffs.
Gasol was a great player, but am I the only one not enamored with him anymore? He's more of just a very good role player, now, I think. And someone is going to way overpay him, maybe.
Spurs-OKC next year sets up like Spurs-Lakers rematch in 2004.
The prior year (2003) the Spurs beat their playoff nemesis in six after blowing a 2-0 lead -- that momentum led to another le after a gap of several years. Just like Spurs-OKC this year.
Unfortunately, the next year in 2004 the Spurs took another 2-0 lead against the Lakers but lost in six. The .4 heartbreaker in Game 5 was the key.
The Lakers made major roster additions in 2004 (Mailman, Payton) to try to get Kobe-Shaq one last ring.
What will OKC do this year? Gasol?
Even though the Lakers beat the Spurs in 2004, they lost to Detroit in the Finals and then blew up the team.
If OKC doesn't win it all next year, I predict major deconstruction of their roster (only Durant safe) and coaching situation.
Manu said he's "optimistic" he'll still play in the World Cup. If he plays through injury during the summer, how can we assume he'll be healthy and rested for the playoffs? As for Patty, he'll be out until March, which gives him barely a month until the playoffs begin to regain his rhythm and confidence.
