Riley
It was a no-brainer for Toronto to keep him. But Lowery was the perfect free agent to pair with an Ariza/Deng for teams who are smart enough to not blow their load on one max player.
There's a huge drop off in quality now for PG FAs.
He is good but want to keep contracts (for Lakers) at 2 years only ...
Lebron is staying.
Melo too and if he leaves my guess its for Bulls.
I dont want Lowry would love Ariza and Thomas tbh if we sign anyone I say we should go cheap and tank again.
Your pick is only top 5 protected else it goes to Phoenix. How are you going to "tank"? You did that this year with Kirbs quitting and got the 7 pick. You really think a bottom 5 record a likely goal? Mitch does ratios...
How hard will it be to tank? Everyone else in the West is going to get better. Right now we are a bottom 5 squad.Philly may be worse off but that's it.
You really expect Kirby to participate in such a charade? When your fanbase is looking for revenge for Duncan>Kobe?
Lowry was by far the Raptors best player this season, despite the Derozan hype, tbh..while I'm a big fan of his, I'm always skeptical of giving a fat contract to a fat PG, so I expect him to go downhill now, but it was a no-brainer for the Raptors, tbh..
It's called lottery for a reason. Cleveland picked first this year despite "attempting" to make the playoffs in their conference
So let me get this straight...
1) Kirby resigns for 2 more years, demanding ownership to compete immediately
2) Lakers have $31m in cap room to use this offseason (assuming Nash is stretched) or $28m if he is not
3) Lakers 2015 1st round pick goes to the Suns unless it is top 5
And management decides to sabotage the offseason, "tank" for a top 5 pick which is a total longshot (given that they put a JV squad out there last year and got the 7 pick) and Kirby plays along?
Seriously?
As ty as the Lakers can play they still can't out the east.
It was a tongue in cheek, but thanks for breaking down the franchise' grim future.
Didn't say they would I am sayin what I would do. Last year we were injured this year we could be healthier but still worse. We were only 2 games out from Utah who drafted 4th.
And Kobe won't tank but if we sign only young players we are going to miss playoffs ...But at least we can see what young guys will do.
Good. Was afraid Lowry might go to a WC contender. As long as he's with the Toronto Irrelevants he's off the radar.
i know you've been consistent with your fat pg theory, but this post reeks of hedging
a) if it pans out, you called it a no brainer
b) if it doesn't, you were right about paying a fat pg
I'm not hater, I don't brag about posts where I'm 50/50, tbh..
And somehow you've managed to not bump any of your tens of Spurs in 5 over Heat predictions...
It isn't, I was giving props, you had that nailed from the ASB
true... i remember when he predicted miami to win either game 1 or game 2 or both, 3/4 of the possible outocomes
Ouch, wtf power move is left for Miami tbh? Carmelo is the only one I can think of and I am not sure how Lebron+Melo will work.
4yr 48 million for a PG who can't shoot![]()
38% on 3's on 6 attempts per game isn't to bad. 81% FT shooter. 43FG% overall isn't great, but it isn't to horrible considering the amount of 3's he takes.
It's pretty good actually. And he was good the year before too. He stunk as a shooter his first five or so years in the league though
