Huge overpay for another "CP3's backup" mirage by the Kings.... this suggests that Isaiah Thomas will probably be headed elsewhere too, tbh....

In all honesty, I'd much rather spend the MLE on shoring up our NBA-worst small forward rotation than on a replaceable backup point guard, so I'm glad DC left....

In comparison, Patrick Mills is a steal tbh. In the eyes of Dale and spursfans, he carried both Duncan and Parker to the promise land.

Well, now Humberto has just ensured we will get a better backup PG than Collison

He MIGHT be back in 7 months. Who knows if he'll ever be the same player upon his return?

So tell me again why it was a steal.

Who is on the market that is better that is obtainable - given your limited cap space?

So his shot is worse after surgery and rehab than before surgery when he was injured?

Patty might have gotten the full MLE if not injured.

He was injured the whole time? If he wasn't, on his level, this contract is Kobe-esque. Except Sp*rs have $29.95 priced luxury boxes to pay for it. Not so good if you ask me.

So you gave him a "discount" hoping he'll come back right after he gets his surgery? Didn't kick the tires or nothing afterwards? Kobe-esque.

Literally anyone, now that they've got the LkrFan reverse mojo working in their favor

That shoulder has been injured all year. Still, some go out and play through it, and some s shut it down for the season after 6.

It seems like fair market value. And nice insurance against the rumored 3/24 million Detroit offered Isaiah Thomas if the Kings don't want to match. Still think a S&T is in the works with Thomas for Smith.

Except he shot lights out playing through that injury. Meanwhile Kobe

Yeah, it's a reasonable deal for both sides, considering how strong a season Collison had. I think the Kings would be nuts to match that offer for Thomas.

YMMV, but in a league with so many decent-to-great point guards, I really don't see the value in handing out the full MLE to essentially a backup point guard - especially considering both that Collison has been pretty bad as a starting PG and that for whatever reason, Choke Paul seems to get the best production out of his backups....

I can only seeing it being matched in order to S&T with the Pistons. Kind of think the offer was made that high in order to get salaries closer for the S&T.

And now he is 100%. The Lakers absorbed his loss for 76 games, had the worst season in their history, netted the 7th pick, and still grossed $150M+. Sp*rs can't afford to crap out on Patty like det. Ya'll picked Cotton for 2 non-guaranteed years thugh
