Apparently, Kobe got stuck in air traffic, which is the best thing that could have happened as his disasterous "let me teach you how to be a champion" speech couldn't convince anyone not named Pau to stay.

Acccording to "SOURCES", Melo really liked the max contract offer from the Lakers and the idea of living in LA.

Personally, I think Kobe+Melo and no supporting cast = one of the most epic fails in sports history.

Artest listened, then left Pierce dead in the ground with the knowledge drop.

Thats because that was the REAL Kobe Bryant he teamed up with. Kobe didnt have the luxury of Tim who has had 1 great coach his whole career. He's had Del Harris, Kurt Rambis, Phil, Rudy T, Phil again, Mike Brown, toni, and soon to be byron scott.

I think Melo is having an issue with Phil Jackson already. Not into his vision for the team and the rebuilding process. Though, I dont see him truly being interested in the Lakers carcass either

Artest doesn't get nearly enough credit for that championship; he skull- ed Pierce all series. I was proud of the mother er when he drained that three to put Game 7 in the refrigerator.

Well, he brings that stupid triangle with him. At first blush that scares everybody off. It puts a modi of dread in the air.

If that's true, over the next 2 years the Lakers would be paying ~$48,000,000 between two players. That's a lot of money to pay two guys who won't even see the 2nd round of the playoffs.

But, can ya imagine the jive that will occur as they're doing it, Cry?

My goodness. Kobe will assume Emeritus state, like a smaller version of Barry Bonds at the end in S.F....sitting in his cubby at Staples dispensing wisdom and advice, selling it a little every day.

That's not a System. It's a play set and one that was mutinied against time & again. You know this, you're just being difficult because that's what Spurs Fan does. I don't know why, you just do it.

Pop's System encompasses the static macro. The Triangle attempts the dynamic micro.

It would be a zoo, for sure. But we've seen what the spotlight does to zoos that only strut and fret their hour upon the stage, signifying nothing.

making the playoffs are a Pipe dream right now for the Lakers. Not only will they have to acquire a bench, they'll need a better starting lineup. Its seems that everyone forgets who the Lakers are going to have to deal with in the West to get there. , a 50 percent team can't even make the playoffs.

The most important is who are the 9 rotational guys.....the Lakers don't even have a coach yet. Yeesh. The playoffs are not happening.

But they'll make a play for the 8 seed, otherwise Kirby's "legacy" takes a massive hit missing the playoffs or, even worse, playing for the worst Laker team in the history of the franchise. And they'll come up a couple games short, leaving them with no picks next year.

If melo takes this deal, then he truly is not eager for a championship.
