yeah, Charlie Joiner and Wes Chandler was there too right? I know they had James Brooks as RB and he could catch out of the backfield as well! He had some flat out weapons out there! His team was flat out loaded on the offensive end. He was Dan Marino before Dan Marino my pops said, dude could throw his ass off.
They had JJ, Joiner, and Winslow and then later had Chandler, Joiner, and Winslow. Chuck Muncie looks like he was the main RB. THey had brooks(i never heard of him- i'm young) but he never rushed or caught for more in san diego than Chuck Miuncie
You are correct on the top three Recievers there, it's a shame JJ had his careeer cut short due to injuries because his first few years he was a beast! Chandler came later from the Saints I remember, correct there. Chuck Muncie was the main RB and got the bulk! Brooks was a young dude then and mainly a off pace scatback who could catch and run, he did not put in major work until he got traded to the Bengals later on and got more carries and touches, still a deadly back though with a ton of speed in his days in SD. I was too young to really see Brooks too as I am only 36, he was mainly an 80's RB and with the Bengals and I got into football in 92 so I missed most of those guys but studied the game beyond belief with books and cards and so on so I knew who they were.
One the the greatest offenses ever, imagine a 1000 yard rusher in Muncie, a 1000 yard TE and two 1000 yd wide outs...whoa! That was that Muncie, Winslow, Jefferson and Joiner gang. Brooks** and Chandler came a little later but did play with Fouts. But people forget about that great Charger offense that came before Fouts and his weapons.
They once had this AFL West starting All Star game gang.
