Curry was a monster during his early years playing for the Bulls and the Knicks. He averaged close to 20 points per game in season with the Knicks. He could have been a vital cog for the Spurs ...why Spurs why?

Okay I know it's the offseason, but isn't it a little early in the summer for the completely off the wall thread about a random player no longer in the league?
On a slightly less obscure note, it looks like one-time Spur Steve Novak is getting traded once again. This time he'll end up in Utah. Based on the fact that they're likely losing Williams and might lose Hayward, I'd say it's a solid move. Sure would've liked him in SA to replace Bonner though.

He sucked. Retired.
Lets not act like Curry was complete garbage during his time with the Spurs. He averaged 8 points and 4 boards in 15 minutes, displaying good instincts while not trying to force anything. In fact, I'd go as far as saying most of us expected him to make the team and were actually surprised when he was cut..
..But then his stint with the Mavericks happened, and boy did we change our minds.
Why was this player no longer in the league not signed long term by the Spurs because he was mildly good about fifteen years ago?

Then you're a re . Curry was never ever ever ever a beast. He was hyped because he played in a large market in Chicago. He was possibly the worst rebounding 7 footer in history. I recall a game where he played 25 minutes against the Spurs and didn't get one ing rebound. When you're that size, one should at least fall into the crack of your ass and wedge there.
His average in one season with knicks:

Because his play made Kyle Anderson look like Tony Parker.
He was a beast in the post with excellent foot work, touch with both hands and the coordination to bang and keep a stable base for a shot.
Problem is that he wasn't mentally quick enough to handle the rotations and whatnot on defense or work well without the ball in his hands.
That was his best and last good year. The next year was mediocre and he went downhill fast after that. The last five years of his career (including the year he was signed and cut by both Minnesota and Spurs without playing a game for them) he played a total of 26 games.His average in one season with knicks:
