    True, but you know how it is when one part of your body is recovering, you tend to feel like crap and you don't work out like normal. He'll have his arm in a sling for months, so he won't feel like running at all.

    It shouldn't be that bad. He'll be under restrictions so as not to shake/disrupt/abuse the shoulder, but he's a young, healthy guy who had minor surgery. They'll have something for him to do soon. I had my left kidney removed in March, and I was power walking 5K a week later, at the gym on the elliptical two weeks post-surgery, and running four weeks post-surgery. And I'm old enough to be his dad (44).

    It's not like you or me. These are pro athletes with a wide array of resources at their disposal. He's not going to have any problem finding ways to work out until he can run again.
